  1. That's all I ever use. I'll buy abrazx every once in a while and I like them both a lot but the invizx works great and is usually a little cheaper.
  2. Honestly in my opinion. If you can see them from a ways off and they aren't charging hard to eat it I think the best thing is to try and get it away from them. You don't want them to see you EVER. Makes them way harder to catch. It might also fire them up a little and you might get them because they think they lost an oppurtunity. Just my thoughts. I hate seeing them come to the boat.
  3. Yaya! Awesome Cesar. Thanks, I'm excited to fish them.
  4. Thanks Chris, i knew this would be a tough one to win. You hit the nail on the head. Its been a long time preparing for a fish like this. I've made some mistakes with fish like this in the past and learned from them. we just hit the spots we usually hit but I decided to spend a little more time on two of the spots just because I felt they might have the biggest fish on them. Jace made a good decision to make a short cast to a spot I wasn't setting up to hit and she revealed herself for a quick second but long enough to know she was a winner. The fish was in a bad spot to catch really. We made a good decision to leave quietly for a short time and come up with a game plan to catch this fish the way that she was setting up. It all worked out perfect and I believe it was from being patient and making the right decisions because we had been in this position before and made the wrong decisions. Patience, not getting too worked up , staying stealthy and throwing the right bait at the right angle got that fish. It happened at the best possible time it could have. Jace and I didn't get to go as much as we wanted to. We got to fish two other days for about an hour and a half each day but it all worked out on Saturday. Thanks to SU for doing this and congratulations to every one who got to compete and caught the fish they did.

    Teener and PB

Thanks guys! Still pumped about it.
  6. Jesse, it was the standard 8" rof 12 top hook.
  7. Thanks guys, it was great timing. I know it's unlikely but I know there's still a chance. Chris has caught one close to that size before. It CAN happen for somebody.

    Teener and PB

It was a pretty amazing day for me today. PB and first teener. Hard to beat that. Me and Jace got to the lake a little later than we wanted to. We hit a couple of our normally productive spots and saw a few good fish but no takers. We moved to another spot and I was getting the boat into a position to uphill a point. Jace throws a short cast with the 250 between two trees near the bank and he says "oh dude, there's a big one on it." It was a big one. It didn't bite but we figured it was a DD and maybe a teen. So we left for about 15 min. and then came back to set up at a different angle to make a good cast to those trees. Jace tried to make a cast but it wasn't really the right angle so he says "drop me off on the bank. I'm gonna try to cast from the bank" So I let him out as close as I could to the bank but he still had to jump into about a foot of water. He goes over and he's just about to make his first cast and I see the fish. I tell him that it's on the other side of the tree from where he's going to cast. But then it just went back into the tree. He makes a cast. Nothing. Then he comes over to the other side of the tree and makes a cast. About halfway back here comes that fish towards his bait. He tries to get low and twitch the 250 to make it bite but it just kinda turned around and disappeared. So I say that I'm gonna make a cast down the side of the tree from the boat with the hudd. So I make my cast and I'm just rolling it on the bottom and, WHAM. I knew it was that same fish. I set the hook and said "I got him!!" Jace ran through the water, jumped in the boat and netted the fish in a matter of seconds. We immediately started going nuts! We haven't been that excited about a fish in awhile. We knew it was the biggest either of us had ever caught. We weighed it four times and it weighed 13-13, 13-14, 13-12, and then 13-13 again. The good old 8" Hudd ROF 12 got it done again. I also caught a 7-0 later on the hudd. The only 2 fish of the day. It was an awesome team effort. We hunted that fish down and our plan worked out. So here is a video of us weighing her for the SU battle. https://youtu.be/ltPdc13JQoE
  9. I hadn't even seen this was posted. Thanks everyone.
  10. Forgot to say, I will put up a video of us weighing the fish and I will post the story in the Got'em section soon.
  11. Well, here she is. PB and first teener. Here's another scale picture without my hand on the fish. Admins just use whichever weight you want.
  12. Lol!! Oh it will. You want to go Saturday. I better not talk too fast. It's still the 19th. Somebody might still be out there.
  13. Yeah, after you fix the steering on my boat I'll tell you the "battle" rules of the boat.

    21 and 22

In Maine! That's a good year. That's good even in California.
  15. The best bait is a flawless bait. Nothing better than a fresh Hudd or baitsmith. ill trade you guys some beat up baits for new ones if that's what you like to throw.
  16. Awesome Jun, seams like you're always able to get something good.
