In summer I'm usually fishing top water, or really deep, and my glides don't fish those parts of the water column well.
-
Very good information. I have nearly a dozen private ponds that I fish. Most of them, I'm the only one that fishes them. Many times the owners didnt even know there were fish in their ponds. I've only been shot down once when asking an owner(I usually use the knock on the door method).

Thanks a ton fellas for the warm welcome. Yes we do have separate bank accounts haha. However, I am free to buy whatever I want and do whatever I want because my wife tells me I work hard for my money and can do whatever I want with it as long as mortgage, bills, and family is taken care of first. Pretty awesome to have so much support from her for sure. All my buddies give me shot about it because I never have to ask to do anything. As long as I let her know where I'm going or where I'll be, she is on board with it.
Dude! I'm suspicious, you sure she's not cheating on you, or you sure your not married to a guy?

Another option, although I now use the above mentioned homemade methods. https://youtu.be/466P-Uyorm0

Puts baits up on eBay occasionally, just have to follow him.

Still trying to figure out how you contact these guys???

I'll wait!

Tie: Old 6" Castaic boot tail in rainbow trout, and old Mattlures boot tail bluegill. Needed, rather wanted, something ultra realistic for some gin clear CO water. Sight fishing Tiger Musky, first cast with the Castaic, swam the bait right by her nose, and BAM! She(38"), and I were instantly hooked on swimbaits. That's after thousands of cast with "conventional" baits. Mattlures happened the same week, an old LMB stocked gravel pit. It was literally every cast, "fish on!".
-
I only take one swimbait set up with me at a time. I usually plan on what bait(s) I will be throwing, select accordingly, and that's it. I'll usually have 3 other rods with me for other techniques.

Excellent vid, monster cat! Congrats! I'm outta breath watching, and great selection for the soundtrack(don't hear much classical in fishing vids. Very "Pastoral" and appropriate.)

If that is your "rattle can" work, can't wait to see what you do with an airbrush!
-
Baits look good to me, but like they say "ya gotta catch the fisherman's eye before you catch the fish's". We all know that the only thing that matters is if your bait catches fish, and yours, obviously, do. Nice work, look forward to seeing more. Thanks guys, i know the paint jobs are not exactly pristine but ive been using Rustoleum in a spray can lol... next investment will definitely be an airbrush so i can get those sick patterns we see so often in the swimbait world. I live in Texas and most of the lakes we fish have less than 3-4 ft visibility so i dont think its all that critical, but hey, who doesn't want their baits to look awesome?!!

You can always add a new pic. Some of us are always up to see a nice shad glider ; )
-
Dang i thought this bait was going thru rigorous testing.... guess that went out the window when the $$ started rolling in, nice
LOL After "hearing" about this bait nearly a year ago, I was thinking WTH is taking so long! : )
-
Is the other floater still available? I saw there was already an inquiry into it. Whew! Just think, sell 8 baits out of that lot and you made your money back. That was a score! ; )

+1 on the sportspal, (I have a Meyers S14, which is superior to the Radisson version )by far the best fishing canoe. Light, super stable, massive payload, customizable.
-
I've had my "best luck" with my Mattlures Hardgills floater/wake, BBZ 6" floater, and M.S. Slammers(Mini, and 7"), for non 3:16 baits, Wake Jr. and Baby Wake for 3:16 baits.

-2 I was saying the same thing when you elected W for a second term, and everything I thought would happened, happened(Economic collaspe, more errosion of our rights, more political division, more world turmoil, and decline in U.S. standing in it, and Bin Laden would still be alive) . In four years, we'll see if your predictions come true?

Heads up! Just got word sale has been extended to 9 pm tonight, and rainbows have been added.

Congrats on your first night smallie, sweet fish! Boy! drought and all, I still miss CO nights!

hey do u have a trolling motor mount? i have the same pontoon u do
Like OP asked, not sure who the question was asked of, but yes, I have a motor mount on both toons, one(Cimarron) home made, the other(Colorado) came with one.
-
Hell yeah! Dove and early goose...with the weather(rainy) goose was way hotter than dove, but there is always next weekend.
-
Nice fish! Gotta love that night tooning. As jpassmore's question, I too have a toon, 6'4" 200+#, no problem with either of my boats. I prefer fishing out of a toon over my yak for reasons noted, and the raised sitting position. Unlike Colby, I have never had a problem with my Classic accessories cimmaron(10 yrs), or my Colorado(2yrs), easily modified(pedestal, swivel seat, trolling motors ect.). The Colorado with a 400# weight limit, anchor pulley, motor mount, storage, and price below $500 is without a doubt the best fishing machine out there.
-
If you need any advice on toons let me know. Next to my boat, I fish from my toon the most. I have a yak and toon, prefer one or the other depending on the water I'm fishing.
