You're probably going to want to move this out of the got em section, but you're never going to find the miracle lake that just spits out double digits. Any of the bigger lakes that stock trout are going to have big bass. Off the top of my head the three lakes that aren't too far from you are isabella, pyramid, and castaic. Commit to throwing big baits and understand that the likelihood of getting bit isn't great, but if you put the time in and eventually you'll get one. Even better, pick a lake to fish hard and learn, try and find a pattern and start narrowing things down.

The issue is do you wanna risk losing the bait. It will get bit, but in general saltwater fish tend to be toothier than freshwater fish. If I would you I would bring some cheaper swimbaits and not your 3:16s. I would never want to raise the chances of losing a bait as awesome as the wake jr, but it's not my decision to make.

Thanks for the help. I think I'm gonna end up fishing the lagoon at the edges of the weeds

Im heading up to castaic this weekend with a few buddies. We will be fishing from shore. Anyone been up there lately? I'm torn between fishing the goon or fishing the upper lake for stripers. Any help is greatly appreciated.

i thing bassmasterzack was defending your freestyle gil if anything. he was just replying to the other posts about swimbaits being over 6 inches. im sure he has the upmost respect for you and the swimbait masterpieces you make, as do i and the rest of the swimbait community. that gil is absolutely sick and by no means was he saying it wasnt a swimbait.
Tampa/St. Pete swimbaiters?

I spent the summer of 18 and last spring in clearwater. There's a lot of public water, but it seemed like there was a decent amount of pressure anywher convenient and public. In largo theres some bigger park lakes like walsingham and taylor (tons of gators though) with some decent fish. Some of my teammates were able to get a boat out on tarpon and said they did pretty good but they weren't throwing big baits. Your best bet is probably the golf course ponds if you have access or dont care about ninja fishing, but tarpon has the potential of kicking out some big fish and I cant imagine they have seen a ton of big baits.
