  1. Top? Bottom is 8" Freestyle.
  2. The lake has been going down hill every passing year in quality and quantity. The main reason I even fish this lake is because I grew up spending my summer vacations there as a young kid. Fond memories of what it used to be. There is much better water out there for me if i wasn't shore bound. Some seasonal lakes will open up soon that hold quality fish. Otherwise the only choice is to throw swimbaits over the shoulder to shoulder trout fisherman. I've already placed an order to replace the baits I've lost and then some. I wouldn't invest so much into something in which I had no faith. I don't bring my other rods when I go out because I'm dedicated. Going out again in the morning. I'll see if I can avoid donating more to the lake haha.
  3. I haven't caught a single swimbait fish in the 2 years since I started swimbait fishing. Huge packs of followers, but no commitments. By the amount of money I've put into this part of the sport with nothing to show for it I haven't given up. I'm mainly referring to this lake specifically. It's gotten even worse after this winter because the wood in the lake has at least tripled. Shore fishing is almost too risky. Maybe I'll just stick to fishing larger wake baits and not risk it.
  4. I'm not a quitter. But, it's beginning to get expensive. 3 days, 2 rising sons, 1 hudd, no fish of any sort seen. (Last year 3 hudds) Faith is keeping me going in this lake that may only have a couple decent fish in it, but I have yet to see fish of any size this year. Starting to feel like I should just remove the hooks and play tug of war with a few cormorants to feel something on the other end. Anyways, do you guys ever call it quits in smaller lakes after donating a few baits with no sign of thigns turning around? I'd really hate to let this lake/swamp beat me, but I'm not so sure how expensive I should let it get until I give in. (no, lure knockers won't work in this situation)
  5. I'm shorebound and have been swimbait fishing for 2 years. Have yet to get anything, but followers. Maybe if i get a gopro and set it up the torcher will end.

Good guy. Bought a bait from him. Smooth and easy transaction!
  7. Hey everyone. Hoping to buy a 6" or 8" Freestyle Trout. Preferably a trout color, but beggars can't be choosers. Floating or Sinking. Thank you for reading!
  8. It's funny because I was just asking around about this question. So far my list: 201DC Lighter Slow ratio Great components I'm a Shimano guy Pluton Bigger gears and Bigger drag Cheaper I'm flipping a coin at this point.
  9. A 8" FS Trout is about .5oz from the rods stated 6oz weight. I do feel though that weight range should be lowered to 5oz.
  10. Great and easy transaction!
  11. For some reason the last picture makes me feel like they're under a blanket all snuggled up, haha.
  12. Hey guys, I know it's a long shot, but may as well try and feel better about it haha. Looking to buy a 6" Freestyle Trout, ANY Color, Float or Sink. Thank you!
  13. Haha nevermind I finally found a thread about it in December, but can't delete the thread! ugh
  14. Hey guys, just another question. Do you ever consider using any scent removal soaps or adding any scent to slower moving swimbaits such as hudds? Do you think they have enough draw power on their own to where any of this is insignificant?
  15. The current rodents have a strip of leather for the tail that comes out. It hardens up a bit between uses until it is wet again.
  16. Thank you again everyone, I really appreciate it. I'm ordering a couple custom LDC rods. Having no experience with these things mentioned, I felt it best to at least ask here to help make a decision; I'm glad I did. Wish there was someone in Washington able to let me get a feel of a split grip LDC.
  17. Thank you for the insight guys. So does that weight savings go along with no foregrip as well?
  18. I did a quick search and didn't find anything, but I'm sure it's been discussed in the past so I apologize. Is anyone able to explain why they lean either way with their swimbait rods? Is it just a comfort thing? Do you like tucking one under your arm more? Do you prefer one vs the other for certain techniques? I've never had a split grip rod so I have nothing to base it off of. Thank you
  19. I sure hope it does. I helps motivate me that much more. We should do a Washington swimbait meet up sometime.

Second that. Great to deal with.
  23. Oh that post wasn't directed towards this site or swimbaits at all Don. Those fish I mentioned weren't caught on swimbaits and have nothing to do with what Travis WILL accomplish. I wasn't discrediting what he was saying, just adding to it. What I was getting at is WA State has many small bodies of water that hold state records. Some of which have been caught and released. Either way it is ultimately invalid for this conversation because they weren't on swimbaits.
  24. Although, that record has been surpassed multiple times and the anglers don't want to kill their fish for the fame.
