Thanks! I already picked up an Okuma Guide Select 7'11" H paired with a Cardiff 400 so I am set for the rod/reel. On the bait side, is there one bait or a type of bait that you throw more early season? I'm looking to make relatively small purchases at a time($75ish) so is there one style of bait that I should be buying for colder water temperatures?

I am brand new to swimbait fishing and am looking for advice on some baits to pick up. I fish almost exclusively in North Idaho where most lakes are iced over til mid-March. I usually don't see pre-spawn or spawning fish til Mid-May and water temps usually don't hit 65 until mid-June. The main forage in most lakes is going to be bluegill, perch and stocked trout with a few lakes having small populations of Kokanee and bluebacks. I am also limited by the fact that I am a college student working part-time to help with expenses. As much as I would like to pick up multiple 3:16's I'm not really in a position to swing that financially. However I do realize that I will have to pay for the good baits and am willing to sacrifice number of baits for quality. Thanks for any advice guys, John
