i wrap lead tape around itself a few times then jamb it in the port under the head.
If too heavy, i just yank it out and trim off some lead. Pretty easy to get it leveled out.

think the handicaped weight is still a winner???

Seems like every Hinkle has a different sink/float rate…..I vary the hooks on the ROF I’m looking for

Grinded for 9 hours on Thursday without a bite
Threw the Battles Shad, Citizen, Gizzard Glide, Rising Son, Mission Fish, Ghost, Deps 250
Fish are still suspended for the most part, not many have moved into the salt cedars yet.
Crazy the amount of giants on the FFS,,,,,sometimes they follow your presentation, mostly not
I you have to catch a fish, the guides are all dead sticking big worms…..not a typo

Swimbait stuff is alot like buying a laptop. You need to get the highest performance that you can afford.
I was self taught on swimbaits starting in about 2003 or so.
Started with a flipping stick (would not cast at all), to big frog rod (too limber), to a Diawa Heartland (still have, but not enough backbone), eventually to Shimano Crucial Swimbait rods, and finally custom LDCs
Same exercises with reels and lines
I don't take much stock from ratings written on rods. The best thing is to test drive other guys setups, that match your casting style

state law in Texas that the pilot has to be wearing a pfd when the boat is under power.
I have yet to see the lake police enforce the law on the hundreds of wake boat captains plowing down lake.
I wear an inflatable all the time......while i don't think it's necessarily a deterrent .....but when authorities see you wearing your pdf in a bassboat, they could be more likely to do safety checks on another boater not wearing one

fished from 8:30 to 7pm......winds were brutal.....sustained 20+ gusts to 30mph
Caught one Dink, missed 2 others all on the Citizen. Had a big fish follow the Hinkle shad.....right on the bait to a single image on the Active Target.
Saw some huge fish on the FFS. Water temp was 54. Fish had not moved up yet.
My buddy has been guiding there for the last 5 years, knows his stuff. Basically what worked the previous year, doesn't work this year.......same for years past.
When the water was over the salt cedars a couple years ago, it was the "line thru" bonanza
Plan on going back in a few weeks

being one of the 12 month guys.......i think the handicap makes up for some of the shortfall in fishable days.
Most months i have to catch a Double Digit to beat the handicap. You guys tell me, are the north winning fish "a fish of the year" for the angler. Not that you just caught a good fish during tourny week......but a PB or in your career top 5?
What do you use for wind/rain forecasts?
