  1. I can't fish the 3" on 12lb. Those hooks on the small Hammer Heads bend out too easy. i was using a different lead head i do not normally use hammer heads i use either warbaits or a better lead head
  2. what's funny is my setup for salt water (i'm saving for a boat so i cant spend anything on a new set up) is my swimbait setup for fresh water Shimano Calcutta 300TE 50lb spectra w/ 2 1/2-3 ft 12 lb mono leader Shimano Crucial 7'11 XH yah BIG rod for this kinda fishing but it throws those lil Hammers RREEEAAALLL far
  3. I was fishing this weekend at Alamitos Bay in Long Beach and was throwing 3 inch Big Hammers all weekend. On saturday I caught a nice 10 inch Turd roller and lost an easy 3lber the next cast... today (Sunday) i caught an 11inch Halibut, an 11 inch Sand bass (not pictured), and a 10 inch chubby little rock fish Was a lot of fun catching these small harbor fish!!
  4. i actually found a freshly tuned 16' tri hull 1979 fishing boat. It has a 70HP outboard with an outboard trolling motor in the front. It has rod holders and has been tuned up... all for $1800... i think i'm going with this one...
  5. I have a quick boat question for any saltwater guys out there... I have been thinking about getting a 13' boston whaler for a whil and i have found several options... 1. this one has not motor, and is dirty, and costs only $500, i can fix it up and buy an outboard motor for a total of about $2300... 2. this one has a crappy 15hp outboard motor, but comes with a trailer, rails, and is operating... it costs $1900... 3. the next one costs around $2300 and is completely operational with a 4 stroke engine... but i do not know if it comes with a trailer... I was just wondering what you guys would do since this would be my first boat... Thanks guys!!!
  6. oh and i use moss green P-line mono...
  7. Depends on what you are fishing for. I use for Bass 50lb braid with a 2 to a 2 1/2 foot leader of 20lb Mono. This also works well for saltwater (if you ever make it out to California ) for the striper i would probably put a little heavier braid like 65 and a little heavier mono say 25-30lb... it all depends on the size of the fish you are fishing... i use the first set up for LMB (thats all i get to fish freshwater wise)
  8. theyre called bluefish...
  9. Last time i went to florida i caught TONS of these and then a caught about a 2 1/2 foot ramora
  10. do a lot of heavy weight lifting if you can... it will cut fat and then build muscle. Drink a protein milkshake/milk after the workout and you will gain a ton of muscle
  11. BUMP these gotta go guys!!
  12. So i havent caught a freshwater swimbait bass since july. Yah, been pretty bummed and almost quit swimbaiting. I went out to my aunts house in Indio this week and stopped by a country club to visit some friends. Luckily, i had 2 Hudd weedless minnows and a Shellcracker. I threw those and caught over 12 fish. I am only posting the biggest 4 though, the biggest one was almost 5... went 4.11 on my digi. These werent on beds either. SUPER AWESOME SLUMP BUSTA was ruined by me losing my shelcracker to an easy DD when it decided to take me into a pile of sticks and broke my line and my weedless minnows are all torn up now and i need new ones anywasy here are the pics

  14. at my lake the bass are particularly timid... i have thrown Hudds, and every winter swimbait i have (6 inch mission fish and an 8 inch floating spro) not much... but that's what i have. Anyways, i have had 3 follows the entire winter and about 6-7 short bites. I know that bass feed up in the winter months, its just that my lake i fish is also very crowded by cat fisherman, and fisherman who, when they catch a bass, will keep it. so that thought came up from experience at my local lake. I understand that bass feed up on trout, but the trout they stalk at my lake die almost instantly. SO that is where the thought cam from
  15. thanks for all the help guys... the main lake i fish (El Dorado regional in Long Beach California) is a dirty lake. I've noticed that the bass are very timid and that they tend to hang out dddddeeeeeeeeeeppppp in the tulles. i usually like to cast right next to the tulles with a big splash... that usually will draw them out and they will in vestigate, but are never that interested. During the spawn/summer months they com out and feed on shad. Almost stuck one on a TT last summer.... anyways, i appreciate all the help and i do learn something everyday. At this lake i have learned during these cold months, the bass wil eat almost nothing there except worms... and will usually com out of the tulles to investigate the splash of an 8 inch hudd, BBZ-1, or any larger swimbait. tThanks guys for the help and i will hopefully stick a piggy soon!!
