    1st DD

I finally got my first DD a few months back on a Jackall bluegill swimbait. I was cruising the shallows when I saw what at first I thought was a carp until she turned sideways and that is when I realized it was no carp but a big bass. I cast the bait past her and slowly started to work it past her and when I did she spun around on it and just looked at it. When I saw she didn't swim off I know I had a chance. I made another cast past her and stated to work it back slowly again and that is when I saw her open her mouth and watch my bait disappear. I stood there for half a second in shock before I set the hook. She took off thankfully for deeper water and not the thick grass and rocks that were really close(I only had 15lb test). Since I was fishing alone that day I start to look for my net so I could have it close when it comes time to land her and that is when I realized I had left it at home. I got her close to the boat a few times but she would not open her mouth and when I tried to grab her she would take off again. After a few more rounds of that she finaly opens hr mouth and I'm able to land her!!!! As soon as I got her in the boat I knew I had accomplished my goal I had set about 10 years ago. I put her on the digital scale and watch the weight go straight past 10lbs to 11 lbs and come to rest at 11.33 lbs. I have a some guys in a boat near me take a few pics for me before I put her back in the water and watch her swim away strong and healthy.

    First rat fish

I went out to my home lake to see if I could get one on the Cl8 baby possum and Vole wake. I fished the baby possum for the first part of the morning and was only able to get a few bass to follow the bait. Since I could not get them to go on the baby possum I picked up the Vole wake. On my second cast I get a bite and land a small bass about 3lbs. It's nothing big but I'm happy. I continue to fish the bait and get a few more bites but I kept pulling the bait away from them(rookie move on my part I know to wait a few seconds before I set the hook). I fished the bait for about another hour but didn't get anymore bites. I then decided to fish my new 8 inch floating hudd to see what it was like and maybe catch one on it. I fished it for a few hours and had a lot of fish come up and take a look (biggest looked to be 6-7 lbs) but could not get them to bite. I tried dead sticking it, twiching the bait slowly, swimming it, ect. Since I have no experiance with this bait I'm not sure if I could of done something different or if that is just how it is some days. If anybody can give me some advice or tips I would greatly appreciate it. So needless to say I'm hooked and really wanting to get back out to try and catch some more bass.
  3. Don't worry about it.... I appreciate you offering to post them for me.
  4. Thanks guys for all your help on figuring out how to post the pics.
  5. This is my first post so if I'm doing something wrong plz let me know. I head out to my home lake on 7/11 with the goal of catching one on the S-wave. When I get to the lake I set up on the first area that looked good and went to work. After 1 1/2 of fishing I have about a 3lb bass just crush the bait. After a quick fight I land the fish and let him go. I was really excited that I accomplished my goal and wanted to see if I could catch some more. I spend the next few hours fishing with the same bait but didn't get any more bites just a few followers. At that point I decided to head back to where I started and see if I could catch some fish on a different swim bait. As I'm heading back to my first spot I notice what appears to be a big fish floating in the middle of a grass bed. So I head over to get a closer look and realized it was a very large bass. I pull along side of her and lipped her thinking she was dead. Well to my surprise when I lipped her she bit down on my thumb. I then notice a bunch of line wrapped around her making it hard for her to swim. As I cut the line I notice she has a large cut under her peck fin area. It appeared the cut was caused by someone trying to snag her and the hooks getting ripped out. I continue to check her out for more line when I notice another spot where she had been snagged and the hooks got ripped out. I get my boat out of the weeds and into open water so I can start to swim her along side the boat in an attempt to revive her. I spent over an hour with some help from one of the lake staff trying everything we could to get her to swim off on her own but sadly nothing helped. Since she didnt move her tail on her own the entire time and every time we let her go she would just float to the surface on her side we decided with much regret she was not going to survive. I put her in my live well with some of that stuff I got from another bass guy which is suppose to a bass recover as a last ditch effort to see if she would make it. I kept checking on her for while but she ended up not making it. After she died I took her out to take measurements to figure out how much she weighted. She turned out to be 29 inches long and a 21 inch girth which calculates out to be about 14.75 lbs. If she had been legally caught instead of snagged she would of been a new lake record. The only bright spot was it appeared she had spawned before being snagged. I get to the spot I started at and this time there is some wind blowing. I pick up the same bait and in the next 30 mins I catch 6 more bass with the biggest being about 5 lbs. I fish for another 30 mins with no more bites so I call it a day. I tried to figure out how to post some pics of the fish but I'm not having any luck. If someone could help me out or if I could email them to someone and they post them for me I would greatly appreciate it.
