  1. Yeah that rod is sweet. It's got cork! With the conquest it's one classy looking setup!
  2. I think 15" but Ben knows best, put it this way he can just about do anything you want jus gotta talk to him about it, I once asked him could he make the handle of my rod out of eel skin he sais" I could but I think I have to give them my pinky finger to get it" Tell him what you want in a rod and he can explain if it can be done,he's a easy guy to talk to you won't feel like you are bugging him haha. How about rattlesnake skin? That would look cool. I just sent him an email about the dimensions of the handle.
  3. Thanks for the info guys. Do you know how much the customs can run? or are you limited to the customs that they have pictures of on their website?
  4. I'm not looking for a rod to throw bigger swimbaits with because I already have the 956, but the 795 or 955 would be used for 6" punkers, wake jr, baby wake, 3:16 sunfish and rising son...etc. I don't really dig the style of the LDC or a split grip honestly and I'm not huge on foam grips either (795 has foam grips too). I might just end up biting the bullet and getting the loomis 955.
  5. I have a 956 too and I like it a lot. It's a great hudd rod and I was going to get a 955 until they raised their prices, so now I'm thinking dobyns 795.
  6. Caught my first hudd fish and also tied my PB. This year wasn't as good as I wanted it to be thought; really tough fishing most of the time. I have high hopes for 2013.
  7. I am in the same boat, still trying to learn how to use them. The only reason i keep trying them, is because they are a proven bait. Same here. Haven't caught a bass or even seen a bass follow a hudd. It's frustrating. I have caught pike on it though and seen some monster toothy followers. Still gonna throw it.
  8. I haven't had the opportunity to throw the bait yet, therefore I cannot answer your question.
  9. Thanks SPEEDBEAD. It took some thought, but I like the way it turned out. I didn't want to cut that dorsal fin off.
  10. Hey guys, just wanted to share my top hook sunfish. I used a pen ink cartridge to go from the bottom of the bait to the top. I wanted to maintain the original profile of the bait so I ended up slicing the dorsal fin in half and it ended up concealing the hook quite well. Instead of a 1/0 owner, there is now a #1 owner and I'm hoping that the hook up ratio won't be affected because of this. It turned out well, but obviously the bait isn't going to slide up the line as well because of the increased friction due to the angle of the line through the bait. I had to do that angle to put the hook where I wanted it. Hope you guys enjoy it.
