  5. Haha, clearly night fishing does not work.
  6. Maybe I should clarify. I'm not complaining about the amount of swim bait fish I catch. I'm just trying to become a better swim bait fisherman. The real purpose of the post was to see if guys on the site are fishing their 250's deeper than myself. Fishing is fishing, not catching, however, if I can do a little bit more catching from advice from you all, I'll take it all day long. Just giving you a hard time man, I mean no harm. Hope you figure it out soon and whack a pig.
  7. Meanwhile, all us guys up north can't believe you are complaining when you have the opportunity to fish open water. We still have ice up here. Think about that.
  8. Thank you this is exactly how i wanted to make my box. Just wasn't sure what the all-thread rod was called till now! This will help me a lot! Glad to help.
  9. I have made a box myself. I used an all-thread rod and cut it to length and caped each end with an acorn nut on the outside of the box. You can buy the nuts and all-thread at any hardware store. Next I used o-rings and snaps to hang the baits from. It is really easy to build and all you need is a hacksaw, drill, tape measure and common sense. Hope that helps.
  10. Nice fish man. Looks like where you are fishing is pretty cold right now haha.
  11. I had one that looked kind of like that, but not as bad. In my case, it was just air trapped in-between the outer shell and the body of the bait. I cannot tell by your picture if that is the case or not.
  12. The con of the Lexa 300 is that it isn't a Shimano haha. Get a Shimano. Or if you fish right hand reels go pick up a Daiwa Z on sale.
  13. The G. Loomis 956 SWBR is a very good swimbait rod. I have thrown the Deps 250 Slide Swimmer on it, but I feel it is pushing the limits of that rod. I feel like that rod has a sweet spot in the 4.5 oz area and so it is great for the 8" Huddleston, baby possums, and freestyles. Overall it's one of my favorite rods.
  14. The 710 is my favorite knife hands down. The blade on that thing is just sweet.
  15. +1. Some stuff might work great for others, but not at all for you. Play around and see what you like.
  16. $165 TYD. This reel is in awesome shape.
  17. Call Shimano, that is probably your best bet.
