Wind seems to be the only way I ever get bit! Highly relevant, and underrated element of my game (or complete lack thereof)
Irrelevant in regards to boat control with spot lock. Wind is always good for fishing I have found over the years.

I use Raindar on my Android, wind is irrelevant with a spot lock trolling motor.

Which KGB’s did you end up getting? My first swimbait fish of the year came on a Chad shad this month. Also, with the taxi trout, do you find it’s a 1 bite a day type bait or do you still get the 2-3 pounders to eat it?
9" TSG one in golden shiner and the other in a weird shad color. The Taxi Trout I caught that fish on was cast off the next day. I got a new one but haven't really spent much time with it. I will say they swim perfect, on par with an OG deps 250.

Taxi Trout and Hinkle Shad have caught my two best glide fish here in Western MA. The Deps 250 pulls in big fish for me but I can't seem to get them to bite, just follows. Grabbed a Bullshad glide in Perch and a couple KGB Glides over the winter and they have been getting bit in the ice water but so biggins yet.

I throw the Cl8 crankin baby possum all the time, they actually bite it when nothing else works and based on the way they demolish it it flat out pisses them off triggering a strike. Ice Water 7lber smoked it slow rolling it up tight in early April. You really need to try a crank down rat, they get bit when the wake versions don't.

Good job, that's my birthday.

Cl8 cranking baby possum is my go to rat bait, It gets smoked here in MA. The other rat that gets smoke in calm water is an old kincannon 4pc I have, very subtle swim so a lot of folks don't like it. I have a toxic mink but I have yet to get bit on it. Cl8 muskrat gets smoked too but don't let the small size sway you away from it, elephants eat peanuts too.

It’s already an expensive bait, are people really paying 200+ for a trick shad? Flipper would have to charge atleast that to make it worth it
Custom painted which is what he dropped were 200 bucks at the New England expo last week. Same baits on Ebay are 250 so that would have been a 1200$ profit for the flipper.
-
He had some flipper buy 4800 dollars worth of them the last drop this past week. He voided out the sale and dropped them again, he posted the drop on the Swimbait Universe Facebook page, that's another place to look too if you use social media.

So what I meant is like for example with a hinkle type glide do you just slow roll it or do you glide it with your reel like i.e glide.... glide.... glide... glide glide etc
My hinkle shad I fish super slow pop pop pause type retrieve kinda like a jerk bait. That retrieve fooled this one. Water was low 40's in March when I caught it.

I got there at noon Saturday, massive outflow of early birds leaving but still had to park at the top of the hill near a bunch power company bucket trucks. Got in the building without any waiting but is was stuffed and quite warm in there. Met Wayne AKA Speedbead and the boys at Universe booth first then hung out at Realpreys booth and helped Joe sell a couple baits. Swung by the Bullshad booth and met Mike and bought a 9" perch glide. Swung by Victors booth and grabbed a Paperweight then dodged folks browsing the different vendors. Went back to the Universe booth and bought a tshirt and met Joey Lanciotti but all the 3pc gills were long gone. Back over to Joes booth and bought one of his custom painted walking baits, on the way back over I stopped briefly and said hi to Oliver Ngy. Glad most didn't take debit cards or I would have spent a lot more than I did, I'm to cheap to pay the 8 dollar ATM fee lol. They need a bigger venue it was just to stuffed in there.

I just ordered a rod and used paypal and reported the invoice as a scam, I used totally bogus info and it still went through, sorry you got taken.

Impressive for being on the water a short amount of times.

A couple hinkle shad backups at retail would be the only thing that I would need. Mine is getting pretty beat up.

I’ve always wanted a mattlures trout glide…even just to hold in my hands if not to catch a fish on. I don’t know how Matt does it, but that thing is one of the best looking and realistic trout imitators on the market in my opinion.
I have a slow sink version I got it many years ago. It's a work of art and swims perfect.
-
I fish super slow sinking glides like a jerk bait in ice water and have done well. The fish in my profile pic was caught slow rolling a cranking baby Possum in 45 degree water, rat bite in ice water go figure lol. They bite when its cold here in New England just need to be confident you will get bit.

I have met Pat and he had a long list of potential buyers who want just one. I think he pissed off his loyal faithful when he started to favor new users. He also came to an annual lunker torney held by one of the og nef members years ago but would only allow 1 per person and took some home enforcing this. NEF is a small site with a cult following of loyal members. I recently picked one up for a reasonable price there. I suspect it was from a member who got it at that torney.
Billy O had one jacked out of his boat during weigh in at one of his derby's. Never figured out who did it. Did Mike sell NEF?

ST41 hooks on it? Mine will float with lighter hooks. Super slow sink with 2/0 ST 41's.

Nice job.
