That will work fine. I used a egg sinker and hit it with a hammer till it flatten out and fit snugly into the lip.

Lots of people use it, works great.

If the hudd gills came in a flounder patern they would be legit.

Awesome read, that first fish sounds like a crazy bite.

Bait looks good, if someone has a chance can they post a pic of one next to a baitsmith.

The shuddertail swims straight with a tail kick like a hudd. I fished one for a while, wasn't a big fan, ended up converting it to a slide swimmer.

If you have a Deps 250 try trolling that. Go over spots you've had followers. ish works ridiculously well.

Cool man, how did the 250 break?

Brian do you have any trout colors? I'd trade you a carp for a trout

I've had the same 2/0 gammys on my flash trout since I got it from butch almost three years ago and never have been sharpened. Maybe that's why they don't stick in the skin they are probably dull AF haha.

I'm not a fan of the 41s either, too big and bulky for me, I feel like they really stand out in the water. I like 2/0 gammys but mostly just fish the stock hooks. How often is the hooking getting stuck for you? I haven't paid much attention to it but maybe 2 times a trip for me?? Not enough to be much of an issue.

Are you just feeling a tap? They are probably just picking the bait up and spitting it out right away. I've seen fish do it with hudds. You're probably setting it after they let go and snagging them with the stinger.

Ya it definitely my go to color. Mines lost most of the flash at this point, looks more like a natty trout but it still swims perfect.

Hey guys, caught this one yesterday. Fished a new lake and overall it was a tough day. Very little visible structure so I mostly used baits I could fish fast and cover a lot of water. When we found a point or rock wall that looked good we would slow it down a bit and toss hudds and baitsmiths also. Halfway through the day we found a promising spot and fished it for a few minutes with no luck. We decided we would leave and come back from a different position in about an hour. The fish hit on my first cast coming at the structure from a different angle. Fish was 6.52 lbs and got her on my old faithful flash trout 250.

How did you guys get into Swimbait fishing.?

In the late 90s I was fishing a dam for trout with a buddy. We were catching tons of trout and as my buddy was reeling one in we saw a group of bass behind the trout. Back then we had no idea bass ate the stocked trout so when one of the bass grabbed the trout and pulled it off his line we where shocked to say the least. That night we pulled out our bass pro magazine and looked for a big crankbait or jerkbait that looked like a trout. We found the ac plugs, I bought the 9" and my buddy got the 7". 2 weeks later when we finally got the baits we were out at the dam trying to toss these huge Baits on our 6 foot medium heavy rods. Needless to say it didn't work, my buddy snapped off on his and I could barely cast mine 30 feet. Fast forward about 10 years. I had mostly stopped fishing because I was busy in college getting drunk and chasing tail. I still had the ac plug but it looked like ish because a worm had melted itself on it. I was fishing a local lake when a dude came up to me and saw my ac plug. He told me those Baits were awesome and he used to catch a ton of fish on them but now he uses a Huddleston. He showed me the bait and said i could have it because he had a bunch and they were really hard to get. It took me about 4 months to catch my first fish but it was a good one and my personal best on a lake I'd fished for my entire life. I still didn't have the right gear to cast such a big bait so I caught it trolling.
