I tie a uni knot but like swimbo said it happens with braid. Try P-kine cxx 20 or 25 lb test you wont cast off baits
I stopped using braid for myheavier swimbaits and switched to some mono havent looked back. I use braid for flipping and lighter swimbaits

Been seeing a lot of junk threads on line brand or size regarding bait size.
Line brand or size should be dictated by cover, water clarity, and size of fish you intend to catch. Not by value of your bait.
I understand not wanting to cast off a high dollar bait.
Those baits arent for everyone.
Not only do you have to have the right rod and reel you have to learn how to cast those baits.
If you cant cast, no line is gonna save your 4-5oz.+ bait.
99.9% of the time casting a bait off is YOUR FAULT. Not the line.
That is what i have learned in the last few months lol. I was catsing off baits due to what i was doing more than what line i was using. Although that being said now that i switched to mono for my big baits i havent lost one yet

There isnt enough money in the free world that will get me to part with my pats baits. By far the winner of the 2013 bait of the year award.

im planning on use this p line floroclear 15#.I would refrain from doing that.that p-line suckedcolbypearson thanks for NO more posts.
Wow. He's probably posted more useful information in this thread than anyone else (in spite of your best efforts not to learn from what more experienced people are telling you) so, if that's you're reaction, I've learned something too. I am never going to waste my time responding to any of your questions.
Good luck.
Yea and I was being rude when I suggested the topic that I posted about line choice.
Riff these guys gave you a bunch of great advice man.

Did you do the custom paint job looks pretty legit man

Those fish are beasty holy poop

Also the lead weight for a ROF 5 runs past the lower hook hanger about 1/2 inch, the ROF 12 stop right at it.
Really!? I didn't know that

Hey all! I have thrown swimbaits for Calicos in Cali for many years. Just moved to Texas, and I wanted to get my big bass arsenal going. Thinking of a threadfin swimbait and a bluegill bait as well. Any texas fishermen on this site who might be able to point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
Welcome buddy

I know Ceaser lost some custom wood baits a while back.
not ceasar's stuff either. It isn't stuff anyone on the board has posted about... i was more hoping that it might be from somebody who had a buddy who had a buddy who got gear stolen... something like that.
OR ---- i'm wrong and this random dude just likes to collect swimbaits and powerbait...
hahaha weird. I just recently got my swimbait setup back because some idiot posted it on craigslist and i recognized the setup as mine.( Im was borrowing a buddies reel and his initials are on the bottom of it as well ) He also knew nothing about the rod and reel. Couldnt tell me about the gear ratio, drag or anything about the rod. Didnt get my baits back but atleast i can rebuild and start throwing my big baits again!

what size nail weight do you guys use to make a ROF1 or ROf2? and what size and brand hook do you recommend for adding on the top, (BB rig) and the bottom?
Im interested in what type of hook to add to the top as well, its hard to find the top hook hudds where im at.
Anyone in Coeur d'Alene ID

Is anyone on here up in CDA, just moved up here from Idaho Falls and was wondering what are the best spots on the lake and or in the area. Don't have a boat yet, hopefully I can get one soon but I know we have some largies, smallies and pike up here. Dying to do some bass fishing again IF sucks for that. Let me know anyone who wants to meet up and fish too would be awesome.
