I agree with everyone else, you cant compare the two. If it were me I'd get the G2. Its inexpensive and will catch lots of fish and help you build the confidence you need with the bigger baits. It can be dead sticked, waked, or cranked and fish will be caught with all of those techniques. If you really want a three piece bait I'd look more towards a Mattlures or MCL. -

Had a pretty good day today to make up for three skunk trips in a row. Biggest was 8-0. Finally got some fish on my new GoPro but I still have to figure out how to post video.

A BB rig and a bottle of mend it works fine. When it gets too tore up to hold the hook, just "mend it" back together and pick up another rod for a few minutes while it dries. Then its good as new again. Or, have two Hudds and while one is drying, tie the other one on. Keeps you fishing and retying every now and then is a good idea anyway.

Anybody have any experience with the EVX muskie rods? I'm debating between the EVX XXH and the guide series XXH for 10 - 13 oz baits.

I was just looking at my deadtwitch a couple days ago and thought how cool it would be if the joint was moved for it to be a glide, and here it is. Looks great Matt, cant wait to try one!

I've had very good luck with the MCL and he has great customer service aswell. Like Speed said, slow to moderate retrieve is the way to go.

I have the SS and it swims great on a slow roll. I haven't tried the MS in the 12" but the 8" MS requires a faster retrieve to swim properly. I had pretty good luck feeding the line thru by bending the end of the line up or down and then feeding it in. I haven't fished the bait yet, only test swam it but it looks really good in the water and I'm sure it will get bit.
