  1. Thanks. it was a fun little project. We'll see how the fish like it in the morning.
  2. I know. I just can't afford one right now after buying a $70 gan craft. Well, it worked. I slit the belly open, removed the insert, and cut off all of the lead. I glued it all back together with mend-it, put a size 1 ST-66 on the belly ring, and cut off the jig hook. Now I have a floating 6" hudd that I can deadstick or wake on the surface. You have a picture of it in the water? I'm interested in what it looks like here you go. Sits with the dorsal fin out of the water with the rest under.

  4. Yeah I just realized that two size 1 hooks are not going to fit. 1 hook will be fine. The main thing I am worried about is the bait rolling on it's side if I cut lead out in the wrong place.
  5. Hey guys I have been slaying the bass lately by deadsticking my jointed claw but I really want to try it with a softbait. I want to try it with my 6" Hudd and have two trebles on the belly. How would I go about doing this? I know I have to slit the belly and cut some of the lead out. Is there a certain section of lead I should cut out to have the bait sit level in the water? Also, is this even a feasible prospect? Someone said they did it in a TW review and that's where I got the idea.
  6. My pb was on a live bluegill but I was like 13 so I didn't know any better. It was over 6. I don't really count that fish. My second best was on a redeye shad, 5lbs 7oz. My third best was on a swimbait. PTL Swinging Hammer, 5lbs 1oz. I just started fishing swimbaits so I know I'll get one 7+ in the future.
  7. thanks dude. Your youtube channel has helped me out a ton. So has your friend Mike. I've been talking to him a bunch on bass resource.
  8. And finally, my 5lber on a PTL Swinging Hammer. I couldn't post the pic in the original thread because it was too big so I had to crop it.
  9. Hey everyone, new guy here. here's a small gallery of some of the fish I have been catching on swimbaits the past month or so. -Cullen
  10. I use them as belly hooks on my hudd and I have them on my homemade rat wake. Really sick hooks. Completely unbendable and once you hook a fish they rarely get off.
  11. I would have gotten the 230 but I couldn't afford it and I don't have the gear to throw it. I'm throwing my baits on a 7' 6" MH with a Daiwa Takara spooled with 20lb Trilene XT. I really need to get an XH rod with a 300 size reel. Thanks for the tips
  12. Hey everyone, I have been lurking for a bit learning about throwing swimbaits and getting familiar with the forum here. I have three baits currently- a 6" Hudd, a 5" (minus tail) homemade wake rat, and a Gan Craft Jointed Claw 178 that I got today. I have been catching a few good fish on the Hudd but I have no experience with hard baits. Does anyone here have the J-Claw? I would really appreciate any help with tips on fishing it and triggering followers to bite. Thanks, Cullen
