    Definitely get a good sander I bought one for 40 bucks on offer up it a belt sander with a sanding wheel, I use the wheel more than anything to get the shape of the bait formed I hardly do any carving with that thing

    Band saw. I only use the scroll for the lip and tail slot but easily done with a hand saw. Band saw is way smoother for cutting the shape of the bait

    It’s probably not the best way to do it but I use a spray on polyurethane clear it’s quick and dries easy. Seems to work ok for me
