  1. THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD!

I need some info. I have some baits that I plan on either selling or trading in the future, and am looking for a fair and resonable price. Flea Bay searches have come up empty.

What's the going rate on a Slammer Snake? It's in pretty good shape. I've never thrown it, not sure about the previous owner.

I'd like to get  a fair price and not rip anyone off at the same time.

  2. That was a nice group of bass you came upon Mark. That's the smaller Pats you have there right ? I have a couple of those, but, have not thrown them at night yet. Gonna have to give em a whirl. Were you crawling them on the surface, or, cranking down ?

That's an OG perch. About 7" or so...

  3. So I found out last night that there was a Facebook contest going for a No-Name rat bait. I immediately hopped in the boat in search of an entry fish. With clear skies and a nearly full moon, I was not feeling too confident.

I'd seen a post on the Facebook a night earlier about cranking a Pats bait at night. The guy did real well, so I figured I'd have a go with mine. Never realized how well it would work.

On my first 5 casts, I landed 4 fish!

First cast, and the current first place (I think) in the contest. 5lbs, 9oz....

Second cast to the same area yielded a 4lb 9oz!

Third cast was a small one and the fourth cast had no takers. Then, on the fifth cast to the same spot, a 4lb, 5oz.....

I'll be throwing my Pats Perch at night more often!!

  4. My mother has had it with Massachusetts and has decided to return to our home state of Texas. It looks like I'll be the one driving her down, and will have a few days before I have to fly back.

So, who lives near Conroe, TX and would like to take this transplanted Texan fishing? :D

I won't be able to bring a rod, but could bring a few baits. I would love an opportunity to fish with someone while I'm there.

Looks like I'll be there from October 3-9.

  5. Sorry Mark had no idea there was a problem with the paint when I sold it to you, offer still stands for a full refund if you want. If you keep it and fish it leave it out to dry under a fan that’s something I do after every trip with wooden bait that take on water.

No worries Dan! Like I said, I love the bait and have no interest in a refund. I appreciate the offer. I'm going to get it repainted and sealed. I was more concerned with the exposed wood taking on water.

I feel this is quickly going to become one of my favorite baits Dan. Thanks!

  6. mine looks even worse and hasnt even caught a fish, first time out in cracked and peeled about 1/4 of the bait, and i only fished it for about 20 minutes, it looks even worse now, really disappointed with it and the lack of response i got. has about 1/2 the paint left on it and no fish

i just put some clear nail polish on it for now, still hasnt gotten a bite.

ill probably strip it down and send it out to get painted over the winter .

Wanna get rid of it? I'll send you my address. :D

  7. Hey SU. Picked up a wood Shellcracker this week, and on the maiden voyage, the paint crapped out. That leads to a couple of questions...

Will the bait get ruined if I keep fishing it without repainting it first?

How should I go about repainting it? Do I take the bait apart, sand the paint off, then go at it with a rattle can?

In just under an hour Tuesday night, I landed three fish on it. I'm headed out again tonight and want to throw it, but only if I know it won't swell or damage the body being exposed. I know baits like Slammers get hook rash and exposed wood after extensive use. Is this the same?

  8. That's great, Thanks! a few new ones I have to try in there.

The arch back works best, "Press ups" is what they called it at physical therapy (years ago).

I called when I had to increase my exercise. I didn't think I would have to do a consultation again :(

The neurologist told me My bone opening around the nerve is closed more than most to make it even more fun LOL!

They want to open that up too if/when I ever need surgery.

You trying to avoid surgery too? They tell me a lot of people after surgery still go in for shots anyway so do the shots only, if they keep working.

If I can avoid surgery, yes! I'm the bread winner in the family so time off to recover isn't going to be good. I still try and do these exercises daily. I think it's the only way I've been able to avoid the surgery as long as I have.

  9. I'm dealing with it too. My pain is on the left side from just above my rear to just below my knee.

I had a real issue with this a couple of years ago and wound up doing the PT route. There are stretches you can do which will help a lot. I'll see if I can find the specific ones and I'll post them here for you.
