Depending on your budget a lower budget setup that works well would be an Okuma Guide Select MH,H,XH depending on what size baits your looking to throw paired with a Shimano Cardiff 300 or 400. If you have more of a budget to work with then a production LDC with a Calcutta or even better a custom LDC with a Calcutta.

Christ so many people throwing the deps fish have probably forgotten what a Hudd even looks like anymore. Just an overpriced bait in my opinion, which is fine I understand ya gotta pay to play, not pay to be cool and own a deps, I'll stick to the ABT glides #SuicidePact My thought's exactly but to each his own I guess. I am no where near as experienced in big baits as most guy's on here but I do agree about the over priced Deps. Big baits are expensive I understand that but there comes a certain point where it's jacking up the price for just sheer profit. Not knocking anyone who buy's deps but just simply stating the demand has driven up the price somewhat but not to the extremes its at now.

Records? That would be a lucky bite I like the lakes around me. I drive enough as it is. So no, I don't think about records , just fun The challenge is always against the fish, not people. Beat the fish. There isn't another game like this to play. What will I do I know...I will just take the guys that make it up here out in my boat for the battle Then I'm booking an overnight flight and I'm headed your way!

I've got the hudd rigged up so I'm on track with that. Hopefully will be getting on the water this weekend with the new boat and we will see how it play's out

Thanks for all the feedback. I understand not all lakes will be the same just wanted a general rule of thumb that could be applied then narrowed down to what work's in my area. Looking forward to slow rolling hudd's and other bait's this winter. Just gonna slow down and have to learn by time on the water

I actually have a gas company right down the road from my house that sell's non ethanol gas. The good thing is my boat mechanic lives less than a mile from my house and has all the tool's and knowledge I'll need if it arises. Thank's for all the input and tips guy's!
