Some guys respool every trip. That was Don Moorman's thing with pf original if I remember correctly. Those posts were a long time ago it feels like. Fluorocarbon every month or so. KVD line conditioner helps keep it fresh.

That’s awesome. I’ve gotten red fish on some soft swimbaits but haven’t gotten a trout to eat one yet. May have to try these

Smash tech convict produced a lot for me.

Did you message Joe’s personal Facebook? He’s always been a quick response.

Been fishing Joe’s baits for almost 10 years. Excited to see these.

I roll in an oldtown PDL 120. Fishing machine.

Freshwater? 45 minutes to an hour. Inshore? 5 minutes.

I had the XH. I love it, it’s a great rod. It’s been talked about in the member reviews section in the past. It’s fast and is a great soft bait rod. It has a nice custom rod look and feel to it.
Buy on Amazon.
My kids broke it on a ceiling fan...
I might get another but I have some others in mind to try. Since moving I’ve spent most of my little fishing time inshore.

Great fish! Have you tried catching reds on a glidebait yet?
No I haven’t. I don’t fish glides baits or other hard baits very often. I could see it working though.

I would also add that adding stingers or BB rigging baits can throw off the balance of the bait and make it not swim correctly. This is especially true with flat sided baits like his G2 pond shiner. If its off it can tip the bait to one side or another and make it swim crooked.
I've had issues with a couple baits in the past and Joe replaced them without issue. And because of him and the effectiveness of his baits I own a lot. More than any other soft bait in my collection by far.

Boiling won’t do anything. Is it off at all retrieve speeds?

RJOE on here but he’s rarely on. Just email or call him. Or message on Facebook. He’s the best as far as customer service goes. Awesome guy.

I think bigger baits peak the curiosity of big fish more than smaller stuff. But fishing is an experiment and lures and retrieves are what you use to conduct it.

I’ve done well on white in all water conditions. Takes on the tint of the water.

Realprey perch for me.

I have the cabelas half finger/mitten guidewear gloves. Worth it.

Sometimes a butch brown rig can throw off the balance of a bait. I’ve done it with many real prey baits which have a relatively thin body. So when you do that the weight on top can cause the bait to lean.
try boiling it, nail weights can help but that will tune the bait to a specific retrieve speed and it may or may not sit on the bottom upright.
And not every bait will swim perfectly at every speed. Some are just better slow or fast. Even two of the exact same baits will have some subtle manufacturing difference that makes one do things one way and the other do it differently.
finding a soft wedge tail bait that does everything properly at every speed is why I have so many of the damn things. I have a few, but not many and I’ve tried just about all of them.

And greenfield lake in Wilmington. It’s closer to downtown.
What are the best soft plastic swim baits around?
