  1. Congratulations on the nice fish and the win
  2. Congratulations and welcome to SU
  3. Cool I figured Jeremy was probably just behind playing catch up
  4. Jeremy of Black Dogs took care of me a couple times, so I had no issues and he was real good about it, but it did take time to hear back. Even his Facebook page I tried to get ahold of him initially responded by someone he had hired to try and catch up on messages after I was taken care of already (so couple months later). It does take time though, but 4 months seems a little long or something that got forgotten. Contact him again and even try his FB messenger, but with the recent Punker issues I bet they are swamped
  5. I fish from a Pro Angler and have a couple of friends that didn't like the longer handle of the 867 (& a LDC i think but not sure on this one) fishing from their kayaks. I personally use the 806 & 807, but would take under consideration while you can stand, there will be times when the wind, rough water, or whatever may makes easier to fish sitting. I would at least have a 2nd rod to use then that has a little shorter handle IMHO
  6. I've been using the Lew's Super Duty for ~1.5 years now for up to the 8" Hudds and the 230 Gancraft with no issues. I had them before I started swimbaiting and they have performed along with held up great. I've also always like the Shimano reels since I've owned them as well
  7. Congratulations on the nice fish
  8. If you're interested in kayaks the best advice I can recommend is go demo different ones and get what you like. That's what I did and am very happy with the kayaks I got doing that! You need to get what fits you, your budget, what you can handle weight and transportation wise and most importantly your needs. Can't stress the trying them out though, because I felt unstable in some, could get another to track right, etc Here's my 4 kayaks I own. They are a Wilderness Tarpon 100, Wilderness Commander 120 and 2 Hobie 12' Pro Anglers. The Ride wasn't out yet when I got the 2 Wilderness kayaks as a few other type at that time. I like both the paddling and pedaling, but there are times and places like a river near me I wouldn't take my Pro Angler on because of the pedals. That being said last summer I was able to do ~14 mile round trips on my lake with the Pro Angler to get to spots I wanted to fish when some ramps closed do to the drought, so each has their place. Same with launching the Tarpon and Commander I can carry easily to launch most places, but the Pro Angler is heavier so I pick my spots. I'm 6' 2" and ~ 245 lbs, so I can stand in the Commander but not for long where as a Pro Angler is not a problem. I also fish 8 to 12 hours at a time without getting out on the Commander and Pro Anglers to comfort is important. So lots to consider when buying a kayak. I will say this I feel safe in my kayaks and I find myself wanting to fish out of the Pro Anglers the most. Here's a couple shots on the water of the Commander 120 and the 12' Pro Angler
  9. Best fish for 2014 was 6.8lbs and went about 23†in length, but in less than 45 minutes I had this fish and 2 more at 6lb and 4.5lb all on the 200 S-Waver, so it was fun and steady action also
  10. That's crazy. I guess the 6inch and 68 last way longer then the 8 inch. Seems like the harness gets pulled out on the first fish A little Mend It and Super Glue can keep a bait going for a time IMHO
  11. No it wasn't. I got a notice about the sale while supplies last. Unreal Hopefully he does a release soon. It's been a while. Sale sounds like it sold out fast. Good thing I'm still OK!!
  12. I got ~50 LM on this 68 Weedless Hudd! I'm expecting it to come back missing a tail anytime now with the way it looks in person, but it still catches fish
  13. No it wasn't. I got a notice about the sale while supplies last.
  14. One reason i never liked musky fishing at night, I scream like a little b*tch when big fish implode boat side and give no warning, stresses me out lol. Seems like mixed opinions on this one, I was thinking of working the bait in a totally different way at night by the way, much longer pauses between rips, putting out that commotion and disturbance on the surface, but keeping it slow enough that fish wouldn't have any problem tracking it. Idk, I may just throw an Arm instead, just piqued my curiosity as to how this bait doesn't get more attention at night. More info is definitely appreciated thanks guys Your right on fishing it a little slower which I do also then in daylight It's funny how them hitting a the boat always gets you/me off guard
  15. Yes they work for me and I've had them hit right at the kayak, scaring the you know what out of me
  16. +1 and I don't know how fast your retrieving, but slowing it down might help also. I know in the beginning I was retrieving too fast and had allot of missed fish. Since slowing down, more solid hookups and less missed fish also
  17. Congratulations on the nice fish and the win
  18. I've never tried the wrapped so I can't say anything, but a friend of mine that tournament fishes and throws swimbaits said he didn't like the wrapped over the straight. I think it comes down to personal preference more then anything on what a person likes as with anything.
  19. If I understood it right he couldn't name or talk about the new Abu swimbait reel until its introduced/comes out.
  20. He's an addict like all of us His eyes looked like they got big with excitement when talking about swimbaits. Glad you all like the video
  21. Enjoyed watching this and thought if someone didn't see this they may enjoy it also, plus SU gets mentioned
  22. I fish from a kayak (Hobie Pro Angler), so it's too much wind when I'm surfing waves/whitecaps more than paddling or pedaling I've fished in arms of my lake and when getting ready to go home, and as I turn corner to hit main lake have had this happen in what seems like mild wind. The wind seems to channel down the main lake a certain way in that area to get rougher then you think it should, so learn your lake and I try to plan accordingly
  23. Happy New Year and may everyone get a new PB in it
