  1. Went and fished The Wall the other night from my friends boat. Decided to bring my new swimbait rod and few hammers. The smallest fish was the first fish I caught using my Swimbait Gear. As you can tell I was a little excited.
  2. Hey Guys! I got my Okuma 711 and Lexa 300 for Christmas and purchased a 8" Huddleston, Black Dog Small Shell Cracker and Savage Gear glider. I just put another order into Tackle Warehouse for like 8 more baits and realized I dont have a way of carrying all these baits. I come from a fly fishing background so im use to carrying all my stuff in a hip pack. What are some of the ways that you guys carry your baits? Do you guys just get the bait boxes and carry a backpack? I will be fishing from shore as well as a kayak. Tight Lines, Rharris918
  3. I work in a Flyfishing Shop which helps me pay for my Flyfishing addiction and now swimbait gear... I couldnt have picked more expensive hobbies....
  4. Awesome review! Awesome song choice as well
  5. Okay... I have changed my mind. I'm going to go with the lexa 300
  6. I would be a little concerned about line capacity with that reel. If you want to go low pro, Daiwa Lexa is the way to go, and you can find them for $140 pretty regularly I was thinking the Abu since I only have $100 to spend on a reel. Btw.. I have not gotten to the reels section on the noobs thread. I'm get distracted by the baits!
  7. Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm gonna go for the 7'11" guide select (hopefully Santa comes through ) and I'm thinking of getting the Abu Garcia Orra SX low profile reel....
  8. I've only read the first few links and this has been amazing!!! Such an awesome idea
  9. If you type in "best line" "hudd line" "best hudd line" you won't get anything. If you try, "hudds fluoro" "hudds braid" "hudds mono" you get results for each. Better yet, if you set your search up like this... You get... ...and that's pretty easy to work with. Right click on the post topics that look helpful, hit "Open in new tab" and you can read them all without having to go back and search each time, or using the Back button a ton when you're 4 pages deep in one of the threads. This helped a lot! thank you!!!
  10. Also, for example how the search bar helps... try searching the questions that were posted in the beginning and see what comes up.
  11. As a complete noob to this sport, a "Noob's Start Here" would be an excellent idea. I have all the question's that were listed in the beginning that are tough to find. Im still searching though....
  12. Hey Guys, I've been surfing this site for about a month now and really want to throw some swimbaits. I have tried to figure out what exactly I am looking for as far as rods are concerned. What are the basics that a rod has to have to be a good swimbait rod? I dont care about brand but do want something that i wont have to replace soon. Also, what is good swimbait to start with? I know their will be a learning curve but just want to know if one bait is easier then the other. Sorry if these questions have been asked and I didnt see them. Tight Lines, Ryan
