From shore I'd say 80# braid, (might miss out on a few bites but it still gets bit here in SD), switch your hooks, and set your drag a little lower. If you hang up tighten that drag up and try to bend the hooks out with steady pressure. Lure retrievers will have limited success from shore (so will the above mentioned technique I imagine haha). But, it's that or break the law by hopping in the water. I think you said you lost $500 in baits... I don't think a water contact ticket is $500 but I could be wrong. I also don't advocate ever breaking the law but a friend of a friend might have had to go swimming at Murray a couple times... just saying. If I end up fishing from shore here I'll either throw a weedless Hudd or something that will ride higher in the water column. Obviously $500 will get you a tube or about 10 rentals and that paired with a lure retriever should help with your problems. BTW a Hinkle floater probably won't work right now ... I'll trade you a lure retriever and a scuba mask for it haha jk... but seriously Good luck dude

I murdered a bunch of 3 pounders this year on the BAA. I would just keep tossing it out hoping to wade through the dinks, the bait is too sexy to put down some days. Good post; it got me thinking maybe I should switch something up for the up-sized models.

I'm sold on them... didn't have much luck later in the year but they were pre-spawn dynamite!!! The biggest fish I hooked this year got dumped on one boat side. If you have confidence and they are working for you I say stick with it.

What a nut job... lol, bread crumbs and liquid??? haha that chick followed you home? Next time call the cops and tell them somebody was harassing you, threatened to strangle you, and is now following you home; legally, I'm pretty sure that is considered assault. A dirty bastard like me would definitely be in jail so why not some old hag. Sounds like somebody needs to find a Mandingo on her deck and put it to good use. Keep at it, but don't instigate, and try and enjoy yourself despite her actions.

I guess I was just trying to clarify as I spent 7 years with the 101st Airborne and I'm neither Active Military or Retired Military, just a simple vet. I was informed that the discount only applied to those currently serving or those retired but the email I received was vague. When I saw your post I got a little excited that maybe I was misinformed and wanted to see if you perhaps knew something I didn't. Nothing but respect for everyone still slanging lead while chucking baits! Thanks for taking the time to reply
