Oversized crankbait rods work well for those smaller glides. I fish a 13 fishing crankenstein which is composite cranking rod and it works great for my Gan craft 178 and Deps 175, both of which weigh more than the S-Waver. I don't have any personal experience with the rod your talking about though.

I use both snaps and split rings. I also keep the same snap on each of my baits and haven't had any issues with them breaking. Not a bad idea to replace them though if your switching out baits with the same snap.

Water temps 65 degrees tonight and I had plenty of action on the glide bait. Like Jace D I catch fish on the Hudd during the summer months in shallow water. Throw them both and let the fish tell you what they want. I've caught bass on topwater swimbaits in 39 degree water when nothing else worked. Sometimes fish don't play by the rules we set.

Uni knot. Seems like not to many people use it anymore, but I've never had issues with it bass/muskie fishing big baits.

I use 3 of the small internal batteries. Save the hassle and get a bigger external battery. That's my plan when these burn up.
