I have a bunch of different colors I paint these trout, it just depends on what the trout look like in my area or if im making one for a customer some times I will have them send me a pic of what they like. Some people like alot of dots with the red band some people not so much.

I use lexon for my tails, its really strong. I really bomb my baits out there and I have yet to break one. If i bounced it off a rock or dock really hard im sure there would probably be some breakage.

Funny you said that just before I posted I grinded down the nose about an 1/8 of an inch to make it look more like a stocker trout, oh well.

Hi all, Went back to the drawing board on my 8 inch trout bait, so give me your opinion on what you would like see or not see like fins are to big, the tail to small, or head is way to big for the body. Dont worry about hurting MY feelings, this ain't like your woman when she asks you if her butt looks big in these pants and you say no dear you look hot. Just got done with a 9 inch Kokanee thats going to Utah to do battle with some giant lake trout hopefully to 50 lbs.

I would try some devcon 2 tone. If your saying every time you touch the bait its messing up the paint job I would just go right over the top of the stickyness, watch out not to get any in the joints, you just got to stir the two part devcon really well, its worked for me in the past.

Thats a great start, I realy like that side fin detail. Its funny just when you think you have put enough detail on it you see somthing else to do. I dont now how many times I looked at bluegill pics on the net...many.
