    I use a cheap reel to throw around a rigs and large swimbaits thinking it'll strip the plastic gears out, but 4 years later I'm still using that cheapo (less than 40 bucks) quantum accurist I got off eBay and it works great.

    Besides the joint mod, I like sanding the bottom paint off the rainbow trout color (which is a redish pink) down to the bare bone color and highlighting the outer gill plate with a red sharpie. I believr it looks a lot more natural this way, cuz ain't no stocker trout has a red belly, haha

    I am looking at possibly starting out with a lower cost glide bait. I've got my eye on a S-Waver 200 and the savage 3D glide 8", does one performer better than the other, or any other suggestions? Thanks in advance
