  1. Does anyone know where to get the mags, gills, shads, etc? I've heard the company dissolved, but I still see pictures of guys that have just picked up brand new in the package baits. Any help would be greatly appreciated
  2. I fish in Charleston, SC with trout shaped/colored swimbaits and I don't know a single lake or pond with any type of trout that isn't at least a 3/4 hour drive away, especially stocked trout (Theyre all native). All of the lakes and ponds have shad and bluegill. I almost strictly throw a Deps Slide Swimmer in Butch Brown Stocker trout and Wakasagi and whack them. In my opinion its all about the action of the bait, not the color to at least a reasonable extent (Im not saying if you an unorthodox color you will catch more fish). If you put a live trout in any body of water with bass that has never had trout in it before, I would think a bass would eat it. Long story short, Yes a trout shaped/colored bait should work as long as you present it in the proper situation, location, and time. Goodluck
  3. A few days ago (some of you probably saw this), Lurejerk posted a new topic on the Black Market for free baits. I commented on the post saying something along the lines of "how nice you are to do that and how I wished we had guys like this in South Carolina", not expecting any type of response what so ever. To my surprise he then sent me a PM saying I'll give you free baits. This was incredibly generous because he would have to pay to ship it to me and gave me baits without me having to pay him. I got the baits a few days later and he gave two soft swimbaits and a DEPS 175 in BUTCH BROWN STOCKER. AND DID I MENTION IT WAS FREE. This is probably one of the nicest things that anyone has ever done for me and is definitley a highlight of my summer. Also this bait would have been VERY hard to get by myself because my mom probably would kill me if I bought a $100 bait and the $100 would take a long time to get due to the fact that I'm 14. I've always heard about how awesome the community on here could be but I had no idea the kindness was of this degree. Thanks SU and lurejerk!
  4. Im pretty sure me and my cousin are the only swim baiters in my city, so its definitely hard to see all my close friends whacking the crap out of them every time. You also might get teased by people of the area you are fishing. Ive heard so many snarky comments and people calling me an idiot for using a 9 inch bait in a pond. On the other hand its very rewarding to stick an absolute pig right in front of their face. I love it though. When you hook a fish on a swimbait NOTHING else matters at that moment except the fish. Its what I love about it
  5. Wish we had people like this in South Carolina!! Its awesome you are doing this, someone is really going to put that to good use. And I know the struggles of a young swimbaiter. Your karma value just increased greatly
  6. Nice fish man, caught my new pb recently too
  7. Thanks man! I was goofing off exploring some new water and it paid off!
  8. I caught my 6 pound 1 ounce PB last trip and broke it the next time I went out. This one ran 6 pounds 7 ounces. I caught her by a sunken bush on a 175 og slide swimmer. I'm super hyped to be able to catch two sixes in two trips and break my PB twice. Any fish over five in Charleston is huge so this is amazing. The grinding has finally paid off
  9. Buy a rubbermade container of some type. Then buy a thin rod to span the width of the box (aluminum works great for me) and stick it through the sides of the box on one long end so if you stand the box on the side, the baits will have plenty of room to hang. Then attach a snap-swivel and hang the baits through the eyes of the baits. Works great for me and many others. There's also plenty of YouTube videos that describe this process if my directions don't make sense. Goodluck
  10. Two volumes of straight swimbaitting, sooo dopppeeee
  11. Threw a 5 inch osprey in the smaller ponds around where I lived and it resulted in one of my smallest swim bait fish
  12. Thanks for the support guys, it means a lot.
  13. My bad for the late response but she bled because the back hook got her in the tounge. It took me around 3/4 minutes to fully get her revived until she kicked away. I wanted no chance of the fish getting hurt. Thanks for the support!
  14. I caught this 6.1 in Charleston, South Carolina on an og 175 slide swimmer. I know this is nothing to the guys out west and in Maine but any fish over 5 here is large. Its taken three months to catch a fish around this size. It still hasn't set in yet.
  15. Thank you guys so much. I'm still fairly new to this so all the advice is appreciated
  16. Took me five casts and she killed it as soon as it hit the water. The SC bass are killing the swimbaits. Her head was huge compared to what else she had. Ran 3.14. Still put up a great fight. Caught the same week as an 8 pounder. Any swimbait tips for the newb? Hope the pics work
  17. What are the use of snaps (At least I think that is what they are called) in front of baits besides the ability for a quick bait change? Also what are good brands to use and what size for hudds and eight to nine inch baits?
  18. Owners apired with hyper wire split rings. They fall line with hook eye and are strong. Also good for Butch Brown rigs.
  19. I keep seeing pictures of bass with a deps 175 in it's mouth. I'm really confused on weather or not the bait is just a slide swimmer or a silent killer or if it's called both. Also the bait with the bill is it remove able. Thank you for your time if you read this.
  20. Hello I was wondering if anyone had a deps slide swimmer or silent killer in the 175 size for a good deal. Thank you
