  1. I had the same tail melting problem and recently had to order another tail for mine. I'll be wrapping it for storage for now on! Not as wide of a glide as a new SS 175, but this can be a good thing. A jerk of the rod with a little slack in the line will make it turn around very smoothly, at least with a 20lb floro leader. I added beefier split rings to it and thicker hooks to make it a very slow sink, but that is just personal preference.

Heck yeah man, congrats! Thats a fattie!
  3. Congrats man!! Whoever took that picture must just be really good at making fish look bigger Still bewildered as to why it bled, maybe you hit a vein in its lip or something?
  4. Big Cat Dreams are real too! That thing was a monster, great video haha
  5. Awesome fish! That rat lure looked alot like a chipmunk, good stuff man!
  6. Thanks guys! I got to go out yesterday and throw the swimmers for a while. I added a single Allen B201 #2 carp hook dressed with feathers as an stinger to the very end tail of the gantarel using 80lb braid. Allowing ish 1 inch of room between the hook and the tail of the bait, I was 2 for 2 on bites (one was a big gar) and both fish were hooked only with the single hook in the roof of their mouths :/
  7. I've been out the past few days throwing my new Jackall gantarel on the lake Hartwell with mixed results. Most fish have come on a very erratic retrieve, however I've gotten allot of short strikes. As the water is warming all over the country (especially in SC), I was wondering what everyone's experiences have been with the bait and what retrieves/line y'all have had success with. I know this bait has big potential!
  8. Hey everyone, I live in South Carolina and fish swimbaits in allot of ponds in and around Charleston, as well as in many of the natural lakes in the upstate. I generally throw 6-8 in baits and have been looking to get a bluegill imitating glide bait. After much research, I have settled on investing in a Deps Bullshooter Jr. However, I cannot seem to find one that is slow-sinking. Does anyone have any experience with this bait and can tell me if it has slots for inserting weights into the belly (like the slideswimmer/silent killer)? Or if I buy a floating bait, am I committed to the top of the water column? Thanks for any help, every bit is appreciated! Tight Lines
