Casts well, minimal helicopter action on the fly. Slow to medium wind, it makes quite a ruckus on the surface. To me the action looks similar to an x2 slammer with MORE water displacement.

I've had my Hudd rod for a little more than 6 months and am very pleased. Out of the package, it feels a little tip heavy. However, after adding xwrap, a butt cap, as well as a 300 size reel, it's evened the balance. The heaviest bait I've thrown on it is an 11" Nates trout which is in the realm of 7oz.

 

The spiral wrap (right) is something that new to me and I can tell on my model that the first eyelet on the top is definitely scewed to the left just a bit. "Made in China" may have something to do with that, though I can't be certain.

 

 

 

I might add that I took it out on a tuna trip this year and was able to land a handful 3-5lb So Cal tuna.
