Completely agree that it's best to stay away from swimbait rods for this bait. Dobyns 795 felt like too much rod for this bait. I throw them on a dobyns 735C and I love throwing them on that rod. It's a frogging rod and has an x-fast tip. It's classified as a MH, but it fishes much more like a H rod to me. In terms of taper, I would definitely stay away from a parabolic rod personally. I like something faster, especially since it's a weedless bait.

Texas Tackle Split Ring Pliers: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Texas_Tackle_Split_Ring_Pliers_Large/descpage-TTSR5L.html I have the large size (never tried the XL). The construction and utility of these pliers is outstanding. Worth every penny.

I've looked everywhere for a new harness for the past 4-5 months with no luck. brutally tough to find since they discontinued the customs. probably just going to do my best in mimicking the design. Precision gets the silencers from time to time, so I would keep a look out on there. They're supposed to be getting a shipment of Negotiators soon, so there's a decent chance they'll have some silencers come in with that batch. Ordering direct from RM can take forever. Good luck tracking everything down!

Hey Justin, any chance you have a link that video you're referring to? Looked around a bit and couldn't find it. -

Very impressive work!

Really? I've actually had an awesome experience with the durability so far. The same ROF5 added another five fish to its total this past weekend and it's still in very fish-able shape. At what point on the bait did yours start coming apart? One thing that I've been doing with hudds for a while now, which I personally think has helped a ton with longevity/durability (not to sound preachy), is taking a look at the bait after every fish and applying mend-it to even the smallest of tears. I try to be thorough with the entire bait, but especially make sure to concentrate on the most obvious points where the bait can be rendered useless: the nose/line tie, the hook pocket and the tail. Almost all of the water I've been fishing lately is loaded with toothy pickerel, and they have not stopped slamming this bait (admittedly, probably 60% of the fish I've landed on the hudd gill have been pickerel). After I caught the pickerel pictured below, I noticed after squeezing the hook pocket that one of his teeth had sliced cleanly through the pocket on one side. If I hadn't been squeezing the bait and looking for tears specifically, I probably would have missed this little gash. Without a little mend-it surgery, the bait would have been history on the next fish most likely. Even with largies, the bait is going to have some really subtle tears that don't look like much to the naked eye. It's annoying and tedious, but I think it's made a huge difference, especially with this particular ROF5 that just refuses to die.

It's a dobyns 735C. I use it for soft baits 2 ounces and under. I especially like throwing the hudd gill on that rod.

Well deserved personal best! Been a fan of your channel for a long time, and really excited to see that you're refocusing it on swimbaits.
