  1. I've had the C3 (forgot which model) for around 3 years now. It still works perfectly fine. Holds a lot of line and is a work horse. Hardly find myself backlashing with it also. It's my reel for my main swimbait setup. The gear ratio is low so you'll be able to work your baits as slow as you want. Downside to that though is that I remember losing a fish because it rushed toward me and I couldn't keep enough tension on it so it popped off on the jump. Believe it has only happened once though.
  2. I am right handed and grew up using spinning gear for righties. When I started using baitcasters about 5 years ago I immediately liked using left handed casting reels. It felt way more natural from the start and even now I don't like using friends' right handed casting reels. Like what everybody else has said, just use what's most comfortable. I don't know of advantages for either side except that you don't have to switch hands after casting when using a left handed reel, if you see that as an advantage.
  3. Have the XH Guide Select and throw glides in the 4-6oz. range perfectly fine
  4. I have a lake by my house that is pretty bare for all I know. No visible structure and I haven't found anything dragging a jig. It's about 3-6 feet deep throughout all the areas I fish. I just make as long of a cast I can and let the Hudd hit the bottom. Then I creep the bait along the bottom veryyyyy slowly. Sometimes if I'm not getting bit I will add pauses or throw in a couple fast cranks of the reel to give the bait more action. That's about all I do with it and it gets crushed. When you get bit make sure you feel weight before you swing. A lot of times the fish will just smack it but not hold on. When that happens I like to stop reeling to make it look like the fish injured my Hudd when he smacked it and sometimes that gets them to commit. It's a great bait. My biggest on it is only about a 4 and I've caught a lot of 2-3 lbers. Make sure you grab some Mend-It. It will make your bait last a lot longer. Mine almost has no paint on it and still gets bit. I fish it on 12 lb Seaguar fluoro (pretty light compared to other guys I think) but I haven't had any problems.
