Split ring on top water wakes , size 5 snaps for large glides ! 

Great mid sized bait with good drawing power. Pretty good color options . Good for areas of water with open water and less cover . 

Just switch them out when you think it’s time . They get worn down more than you know and it’s not worth the risk of not keeping fish pinned .

I’ve been using the Cardiff for many years but have never encountered this problem . All my cardiffs have been workhorses and regularly maintained and cleaned . I would reach out to Shimano via email to see what they recommend . I also have a reel guy if you want his contact . 

Can always throw a slammer tail on it !

Two piece is my go to , however I like the 3 piece for crank down applications . Great bait and will last forever !

What's the budget 

Might be able find a clean, used older Calcutta with the low gears for ~250.

the Shimano Tranx 200 for the smaller baits and the Tranx 200 or 300 for the bigger ones I would get the 300 so you can use bigger ones in case you choose 

I was hoping next drop was MH, but looks like the rest of lineup are set for a drop. 
 
 

Most are parabolic treble bait rods. I guess you could use braid but there are better options out there for that setup

Ldc mh is a great all around rod. It will fish softbaits like the citizen 7 or Yunique carp exceptionally. They aren’t “parabolic”, more of a moderate taper. I throw citizen 7’s and toxic wade hoggs on the ldc MH and it works very well for both. 

Also pretty true to the rating but the sweet spot is 1.5 - 4 ounces. 

That’s a pretty accurate screengrab of the bend on a solid wade hogg fish. 

Low down customs ML is an unreal rod, cant say enough good things about it!
