i want a new rod for lighter swimbaits that wont break the bank
7'6 up to 8 lures 1-4
I use the iRod Jr Swim. It casts baits 1-4 effortlessly. $159 I believe.

See those holes on each side of the rat's ass by the tail?
Take a small piece of wire (paper clip) and you can push the toothpick right out.
I bent several different things trying to get one out. Even waited a few days for it to dry out. I used cut 2/0 hook and a perfect size drift and still nothing. Did what I said and was surprised how little effort it took to pull it straight off as opposed to trying to do what the instructions said. I watched the BBZ vid on how to do it too. Mine had a piece of toothpick stuck in the smaller side of the hole. I had to use a drill bit to clean it out. The new toothpick comes out no problem.

If there is a tiny amount of the 80lb braid sticking out or any tail grab with pliers and pull. Toothpick breaks very easily and pieces fall right out.

Snaps are good if you only have the one rod and want to try several different baits. Especially if you only have a couple hours to fish. It's pretty easy to tell if it effects the action if you already know how it looks and feels tied direct. I'm a fan of the Hudd 68. The JR Swim will toss the 8" Savage Gear line through with ease when you start to feel better.
