  1. Ayumu S-Quad 120 in “Nigorobuna”
  2. My first Deps….what a beautiful bait. I think I need to buy a bullshooter, now. Deps 175 Slide Swimmer in “Real Keta Hasu” I absolutely love how the top of the tail is chartreuse like it is….it’s a feature that probably will go relatively unnoticed by most fish(which I’m fine with, the overall look is a natural one) because of its location but it makes seeing the lure extremely easy…even in low light conditions.
  3. I’m referring to the 168s and 200s as having some movement at slow speeds. The 120 always seemed to need more speed to get going.
  4. Come to think of it, the s waver actually does have a little bit of action…even at the super slow speeds. But the storm Arashi glidebait, however, does not. It’s a little more stiff and requires higher speeds to get moving.
  5. I’ve gotten eyes with pretty fast retrieves in cold water. And I’ll try speeding up from time to time…even now. But a super slow straight retrieve is what’s getting it done for me right now. I remember fishing horsetooth one night with jerkbaits and stuff and not getting anything all night. Then I threw on the small s waver and brought it in super slow. I got a few nice fish and then realized I was reeling so slow that my lure wasn’t moving at all. And I felt like maybe that’s why I got bit. A Big profile scooting by is enough to warrant some interest….even with zero lateral movement or tail kicking/body undulation.
  6. The lake I’m fishing was almost completely frozen over earlier this week….Because of the water temps, my retrieves are super slow right now…for the most part. This means that the tail is not moving on soft plastics like the Magdraft….and glidebaits like the s waver don’t do much gliding. They just crawl along in a straight line….not having enough speed or energy to break right or left. But that’s okay. That’s what the fish want in these conditions. As the water warms up, my retrieve will increase in speed. This is just a generalization, however.
  7. Went to a local spot…threw an s waver 200 for a while. Had one fish come off and then missed a couple hits. Lost the lure and tied on a six inch Magdraft. Had a couple missed strikes and then got this baddie. She was thick!
  8. This is what they should look like, right? Maybe not necessarily that exact color but this is a Roman made signature s quad 120….
  9. I bought one of these and got it today among other lures. The Roman made ayumu s quad 120s have a Roman made sticker on the box though, right? And from what I’ve seen now, they have different paint jobs? So what I bought and what’s being advertised in Tw right now are just regular s quads, right? They’re not the Roman made signature ones…correct me if I’m wrong. Also, my lure says sinking in the box but Tw says this is a floating lure?
  10. Damn, dude! That’s awesome! I wish we had some big stripers around here
  11. Gotta love the bbz1! The slow sink is super versatile!
  12. Good ish, bud. Wish I had more experience doing freshwater on the west coast
  13. Haha I love the name big grandpa! It reminds me of the huge rainbow trout colored poppers and long-as that my grandpa used to throw for stripers at lake Meade back in the day.
  14. Ugh….that sucks bro. Sorry to hear that. I may have gone in after it, tbh. Dunno how deep you were or what exactly happened but did you consider taking a dive? Ive done it before. Or did a fish take it?
  15. Got me some new mags…eight inches this time
  16. Went out for about an hour. Got one fish and called it. Lost a six inch hudd and lost the Magdraft but it was all so worth it!
  17. Cool, man. I recently saw a video of a guy in Japan throwing the 70 for really cool looking cherry trout in what looks like urban or suburban canals. It’s got pretty interesting video game style editing.
