  1. Got my Deps' yesterday! They included a free pair of rod wraps which ironically I decided was something I needed and purchased at my local tackle shop's annual sale three weeks ago. Nice freebie though!
  2. Heck I guess I'll take that suicide glide, sending PM now.
  3. Someone buy that Billrilla so I don't. Great bunch of baits and good prices too!
  4. Great price on those LDC rods, and FINALLY some LDC rods spiraled left...except I'm in NorCal. If you still have them when I'm in LA in early November I'll grab that XXH
  5. Canoes scare the bejeezus out of me, especially in water shared with other motorized boats that create wakes.
  6. First time ordering from them, I got a couple of the SS and a SK - all for not much more than one SS would have cost from a domestic retailer. Thanks for the heads up!
  7. The custom Kokanee color Huddleston just put up on their website Thursday morning might be your best bet. All sizes/models except the 10" versions which sold out are available.
  8. Is a backup to a backup to a backup, reasonable?
  9. Thanks for the responses - I've found a few posts where people recommend mono (CXX in particular) but was hoping to get some input on braid. I don't have an XXH rod, just something to consider down the line. I'll probably pair one 301E with fluoro on the M1, the 301DSV with mono on the Muse, and will spool up the other 301E with braid so I'll have one of each and can always swap.
  10. Looking for some help/advice on setups to be able to use as many baits as possible (I'm a hoarder so I have a little bit of everything from small to large, swimbait to glidebait to topwater). 13 Fishing Muse Black 7'9" Heavy, 2-4oz Phenix M1 Inshore 9' Heavy, 3-8oz (XXH Broomstick?) Curado 301E - 25lb FC Sniper Curado 301 DSV - (Line?) Curado 301E - (Line?) How would you fill in the three blanks, how would you pair them, and what would you throw on each?
  11. Haven't seen this before, that thing is sweet!
  12. Forgot about Performance Tackle! I've made a couple of trips there and have gotten almost all of my CL8 baits from them!
  13. Coyote Bait is my favorite tackle shop and is a bit out of the way from San Francisco but they have the best/friendliest staff around. If you can make the trip down to San Jose just introduce yourself and let them know you're visiting and strike up a conversation, it'll be like the fishing version of Cheers. I haven't been to Hi's yet but that's the other local tackle shop with a great rep that always comes up in discussions. Down south try to make a trip out to The Longfin in Anaheim- probably the largest selection of Triple Trouts you'll find anywhere. I try to go every year when visiting family down south. Angler's Choice is a place I've read a lot about but their store hours never lined up with when I was in the area, but on the list of places to check out.
  14. I suck, I was hitting F4 instead of F5, by the time I figured it out they were all gone.
  15. I'll take the Chartreuse Shad or after that the Shad or after that whatever is left!
  16. On day three KVD started his morning by chucking a SK King Wake Shad along the seawalls. Didn't get any bites but he did stray from the jerkbait he was using most of Friday and Saturday. You all think Zaldain was chucking the 262T? Grats to Jordan Lee, amazing accomplishment at only 25 years old, and he's got more years of fishing left than his age. I'm okay with the anglers spending time on the stage thanking their sponsors, and okay with BASS giving them the time to do so. Fishing isn't on the level of other sports that have a lot of TV/advertising revenue coming in, so sponsor money is still one of the lifelines of the sport. Plus every so often you run into a local niche sponsor that might give you something new to play with, that you may otherwise have never heard of.
  17. I use a spiral wrap glass rod as my primary mid/mid-heavy crankbait rod. In the article above it's the part where he talks about torque where I think the most benefit is given, especially if you're doing something like cranking for extended periods of time. http://www.onthewater.com/rod-design-fishing/
  18. Gone in 5 minutes! I need to turn on notifications for new posts.
  19. I have a Megabass I-Slide 185 and a plastic worm (don't forget the brand, but it wasn't Z-Man or Yamamoto, might have been a Zoom) started eating into the tail of the I-Slide. Plastic worm was fine but the I-Slide tail has the start of a crevasse. I try to keep the original packaging for everything, and if not I'll put it into a separate zip loc bag (haven't seen anything react with the zip loc plastic yet).
  20. Get in contact with Melosh Custom Lures - he handcarves everything out of wood and I'm sure can make you a bait in any size you want, of any design of your choosing.
  21. The D&M Pirahna Beast chatterbaits have a split ring between the blade/jighead assembly and the hook so you can swap the hook for a larger one.
  22. Considering getting one at the end of the month when my local tackle shop has them on sale - not able to find much online in terms of reviews. Anyone here use one and able to provide any feedback?
  23. Hope the line-tie eye is big enough to accommodate boat rope.
