I pond hop all over DFW, I’ve been keeping a 13 Fishing wedge tail gill tied on since the start of spring it’s been a producer, Mattlures Hardgill, and a Gantarel. Top water bite hasn’t really been on for me since I don’t usually get out till after the kids get on the bus. What area are you in?

I fish ponds around the area, and the creeks off of new river. When I had a boat, I would typically fish the Trent river, sutton lake, and lake waccamaw

Hard baits specifically, Gantarel and wake baits right now (Rats and Shell cracker). Earlier in the year I had a few on the deps.

I feel ya man. I caught my PB a few weeks back , but since then I havent had a bite. I even went to a well known pond that holds healthy bass. But of course when I went there last weekend, the land owner told me the dam was stuck open by a log ( its an old mill pond), the water level went down further than normal and the fishing hadnt been very good. I tool my chances and came up with a big fat 0. I just watch a lot of youtube vids when im in a funk and reassure what im doing is going to work!

I've gone about 2 months without a fish, this morning I got up and drove to an old quarry lake In my area that ive never been to. This place is super deep with a lot of steep rock ledges and notorious for leaving anglers scratching their heads. I made my way to a portion that had one long sloping point. I saw quite a few perch and bluegill along the bank as I was walking so I tied on a Jackall Gantarel and casted out over the point. As I was gliding it back, I stopped to scratch my leg and as soon as I turned my reel, Boom. She smashed it! She weighed in at 5-4, as far as length about 20. As you can see I dont have her lined up well on the board. (I was still shaking haha)

I filed down one of my 168's, I didn't see too much of a difference in the action. I'm guessing it would be more of a pronounced difference on a 200?
