  1. Another Guy vouching for Shawn here! He was gracious enough to give away a bait, that I was lucky enough to receive. Stayed in constant contact, and shipped as soon as possible. A++++ Now to stick a fish on it!
  2. I still don't quite understand how the handicap (or lack thereof) works for georgia and mass. In what way does past years entries count for the handicap? I assume that if georgia has won recently then we get less of a handicap? It would be nice to have a hard number (or at least a way to estimate one) for refrence when competeing and entering fish.
  3. No way! I am super pumped! I'll have a PM inbound soon. Also, I will be sure to pass on this gesture to the next guy when/if I am able to in the future. Thank You, incredibly humbled by this forum again.

    7lbs hudd bass

Nice fish! - as far as the SD card filling up goes, put your gopro on a 5-10 minute loop in the looping mode. That way it just records over the old footage and you can stop it when you get a fish. As far as the battery going dead, can't help you there.
  5. I suddenly need a bait I have never had interest in.
  6. If a lake has trout, I throw trout. If not, I tend to fish a simple colored bait with silvery/white sides and an olive/black back. Something like the green gizzard hudds, party crasher S-waver, ect. I like that colorway just because it is simple, and it does a fair job imitating any forage. Gills, Baby bass, shad, trout, crappie, pretty much any fish you can think of, light colored sides and belly (silvery) dark back (dark green)
  7. you can always just get white/albino colors of most regular swim-baits. As for the standard golden/orange koi, that may be a bit harder to find.
  8. Got this Fish right before dark reeling the s-waver just enough to keep it swimming. Fish hit real soft, set the hook, and I immediately started cranking him in, thinking he was in the 2 pound range. when he got close, and figured out what was happening, he wasn't happy, and did everything he could to get me around something. Nice fish, had he been a couple inches longer, he would have been alot heavier- giant gut, but stubby. Went 4# 15 ounces, and 5# flat on the scale.
  9. awesome reel. buy it. That is all-
  10. thank for all the help guys! I am using 20# mono, but would prefer to take it down to 15# (even though I know this will only worsen the sinking) I checked it, as I thought it could be leaking, but it seems to be water tight. I will probably take a split ring off of it to see if it helps any, maybe try some lighter hooks, if not, I will just fish it how it is and invest in another one I guess! I honestly really like the almost suspending/sinking action, just not quite what I needed for my purposes. I'll keep y'all posted
  11. Count me in as well! trying to get some good gill baits for the ponds round here!
  12. I recently received a new gantarel jr. only one problem... It sinks. This normally wouldn't bother me, it may even be a plus (it almost suspends which is super tantalizing) but I was interested in using it to wake as well as being able to float it over pieces of cover. Anyway, mine sinks, how do I fix it? I thought about pulling off the stock trebles (heard it needed this anyway) as I thought the feathers could be what was sinking it, but I am afraid that new trebles may only be heavier (the stock ones are fairly light wire)..... Any tips or suggestions?
  13. What part of the river are you at? Throwing the baits below the dam for browns?
  14. I do quite a bit of trout fishing, and I believe that you will definitely want a trailer hook to ensure you get hookups. Even though I have never fished pyramid lake, I would also probably advise you to take some smaller presentation baits jerk-baits and hair jigs in particular. From the fly fishing side, I really haven't seen guys throwing real big streamers in those lakes, mostly smaller stuff. they also seem to concentrate on fish in different areas of the water-column, so I would be sure to have baits that allow you to fish different depths.
  15. looks like i'm headed to lake seminole.... i'll bump this one more time to see if anypne has any info they are willing to share... PM's are fine as well.
  16. Looking to do a bit of traveling the week of the march 12th, and was looking at these two lakes- any preference between the two, hints, tips, tactics, or alternatives are welcome. Looking for around a 6 hour drive or so. Although I would prefer to throw swim-baits, I am fine with fishing conventional if that's what I need to do to catch fish.
  17. the one 3 defy rods may be pretty good, I haven't messed with one much. If you upped your budget to 100 you have a lot of good possibilities at that price point.
