Some of these folks really need to get out of their own heads. A mother is easier to retrieve than a chatterbait! It has very little to do with the weight of the bait. First the concern was throwing? Now it’s reeling? Next post will be “can a 200DC handle 20 pound fluoro or is 16# max? Will braid ruin the gears?” It can and will fish everything you’re willing to throw as long as you’re using the appropriate line. I fish plenty of 20 and 25# fluoro and also 50 and 65# braid on them with huge, heavy, hard pulling baits. They are great reels.

I really like the silver/gunmetal color but 1 of 1 black is even better... I think a 300/400 would be a popular addition but haven't see any need for a larger size even with up to 25# JDM fluoro

If you’re a pike guy then you already know the weight of the cast has very little to do with the resistance of the retrieve. There’s no limit to what you’re able to fish on the 200DC, especially the low gear ratio. Use the appropriate line for the application and don’t over think it.

Makes absolutely no difference. The gears aren’t engaged when you cast. Look at spool shaft diameter/length and spool bearings between a Conquest 100/200/300/400... why people think there’s some casting weight cutoff for different sizes is beyond me. Bass guys...

It’ll throw as big as you can throw. Don’t over think it.

Plain and simple there are a TON of different versions of Conquests and Calcutta’s. The vast majority of Ebay are out of date (non-current) models. Make sure you’re comparing apples to apples and yes, some deals can be had on eBay or other places vs big box USA retailers.
