He was on bull shoals and I know that doesn't have floridas.

one reason I'm asking is I'm wondering if the northern strain are as prone to eat trout as florida strain are.
-
Dumb question I know, but were those northern strain or florida strain largemouth in that DVD? I didn't think the northern strain got to 10 pounds very often at all is why I'm asking. I know the Arkansas fish were northern but not sure about the rest?

if a lake is say maybe 58 degree water in the summer where they stock the trout but feeder creeks are warmer do you think they would still stay in the stocking area in that 58 degree water or would they all probably migrate to the coves and creeks where the water is in the 80's at that time and just feed on bait fish instead?

The only reason I wanted it was because I want to use it for brown trout. They have smaller mouths and tbone the bait usually. I just thought that a bottom treble would help me hook that particular species of fish. I agree on the bass stuff and gill hooking. Should of been more clear as to why I asked.

Good info. Thank you both for your time and help

I'm in no way bashing at all guys just wondering why they went away with the bottom hangar on the 68and when they did

I thought my old top hook Hudd 68s had a place to add a treble on the bottom? I didn't use it much but it was nice to have an option. I bought one from swimbait city last week and when it came it didn't have the bottom hangar any longer? Sure looked like the quality had gone down as well? Not bashing the Hudd it's my favorite bait but asking in general what changed.

I never in my wildest dreams thought of walleye eating an 8 inch Hudd. I've got plenty of lakes around with big walleye that will exceed 27 inches. How often do you catch walleye on a Hudd, like do they take it more readily than bass will, year round etc?
-
thanks for the info so far. I've stuck with the 68 because of our fish size here in Kansas. A big one here is in the 5 to 8 pound range with very very few fish every exceeding the 8 pound weight. In fact a 7 pounder is pretty rare here, hence why I have stuck with the 68 and haven't made the step to the 8 inch

I have 2 questions on fishing a Hudd 68. I've had a lot of success with them and love them. I'm wanting to improve on that success though. First question is do you ever Butch Brown rig a Hudd 68? I'm 90% sure everyone will say to just fish the jig hook as is on that small of a bait but I wanted to ask atleast. I prefer the weedless myself but I've got some top hook ones that I wanted to ask about. I also thought the BB rigging might help with smallmouth and wipers which have smaller mouths. Second question, I've always fished my hudds with a slow steady retrieve in the middle of the water column. Do you guys fish them along the bottom mainly though? I've never crawled one on the bottom and wondering if I need to do that? Lastly If I bought an 8 inch would I want to crawl it on the bottom or fish the same way as the 68? thanks in advance, travis

I have a Phenix Swimbait Classic 7'9 Heavy action rod. The tip has been replaced, very nicely. The rod is in great shape other than that. Super light for this strong of a rod and crazy sensitive. I hate to get rid of it but need the money for medical bills. Rod retails for $300 plus shipping. I'm asking $150 shipped to your door. thanks, travis
