I caught my first lmb 3 days ago which weighed somewhere around 4lbs and now this one today caught on the gillrilla in 3 ft of water on moderate slow retrieve. Extremely stoked and i cant believe this just happened. Too bad my digital scale hasn't arrived yet. I wore the same shirt and shorts on both days and i'll continue to if this keeps up.

A month ago, I was first exposed to fresh water swim bait fishing when i saw a stranger land a 5lb+lmb on a Hiroshima gillrilla and I immediately knew thats how i wanted to fish. After countless hours on SU and putting my time in on the water, i finally found this beast. I cant thank you guys enough for all the wisdom ya'll poured in to this site. I love my newfound addiction and i hope it wont be my downfall. By the way does anyone have an idea how much she would weight? Caught on a Mikey 160 trout pattern in 3ft of water on a moderately slow retreive, using 17lb Pline Cxx.

Yea probably not a preferred bait. they look pretty enough for me to make an impulse purchase, but i guess all i need to hear is that they helicopter like a MF to turn me away from it. Big slant have you tried the gan craft jointed claw 148 &178? I was thinking either the duel hardcore or the GC178. i would like something that makes a really wide S turn.

7" 2 5/8oz slow sink. Has anyone spent any time with this glide? Price point seems good for a beginner, but I would like to know some of the pros and cons before purchasing. Any insight would help thanks.

noticed that i'm respooling my reel more often than usual just because i'm worried about breaking or casting off an expensive lure. Does anyone spool their reel with half braid and the other half with mono/floro to save line?

I was eventually going to ask the same question. i wouldnt feel comfortable using 15lb with something that cost that much.

I walk in to the shop and im holding the H and XH. Im checking out the bend of the H and im thinking, really?! This is the rod that everyones hyping up? It felt like one of my saltwater bass setup rated #15-25 MH rod. I carry the rod up to the register and theres a hug line. after standing there for a bit i end up talking to an employee and i told him that im looking to toss 3.5-5oz swimbaits and he convinced me to buy the XH. He seemed very knowlegable about swimbaits so i listened. Guide select XH paired with a curado 300e a decent rig to start out? Im prepared to get skunked for a very long time..hopefully my persistence will pay off sooner rather than later.

Hello, new to the forum and swimbait fishing. I read the beginners thread but still cant decide if i should buy the H or XH. Planning to throw 3-4.5ounce 5-7"( Pizz customs glide style, beast bluegills) Should i be safe and go with the XH? I dont want to regret buying Too light or heavy of a rod for this application.
