Creeper/Crawler bait recommendations
Harshwaters replied to professorbass's topic in The Underground
Monka. Catches Giants consistently. Only weak spot i have found is the wings. They will crack at the slot after heavy use and untold number of catches. It has happened to me twice in about three or four years but i throw the Monka daily. I can no longer get wing kits from MLW but have found a solution for replacement wings. FXXX speed crawler. If they don't want dead slow i burn or burn, pause, burn the FXXX. Reminds me of a buzzbait. Caught some real quality fish on it the last two years. Especially Smallies. Word of caution. Periodically check the bottom hook hanger on both baits. They will loosen and back out . -
Go back at night if legal and fish a noisy topwater. They go nuts for crawler baits.

Totally hate fishing from a kayak. Dislike fishing sitting down. Got sick of the cost related to owning a boat. But liked fishing from it because i could stand up. Now i just bank fish at night.

Your having a great start to the new season. Your in the zone. Off the bank too!

Great crawlerbait fish @buzzed bait I was hoping for a six. That just got bumped up to a 7-14.

I am a believer. New Moon especially. Couple days before and after. I am talking night fishing. Don't have any experience during the daytime. Majority of my big fish came at or near full/new moon last year . Definitely gets them fired up.

White or black. But that pink is definitely sweet.

One piece crawler is all you need. Creates enough disturbance / sound IMO a two pc.adds no benefit.

Congrats on your new PB. Great fish. The crawlerbait just gets bit day in and day out. You know they're big when your crawler gets inhaled.

Congrats Jesse. I'd be lying if i said i wasn't stoked a New England guy took it.

Rob's 7.5" glidebait and Scottsboro Tackle swimmers. Both get bit because of their action.

Least costly but get bit would be the Spro 50 and Bullrat. I'm partial to wooden baits so i like to fish the WSB 125 and the Morning Wood 2 pc. 5". On a side note my PB came on the Spro 50. Baby Possum is a cool bait.

Nice and THICK. Congrats

Well executed. Nice fish!

Another vote for Big Game. No break offs in four years using 20# test. Went to 15# this year on my Tatula 200 for lighter baits. (Smallmouth rod)
