Yes brandon it is the trim board ...in smaller thickness ( 3/4 inch ) stock, one side is normally smooth reverse has "grain" no biggie sand it off you lose about a 1/16 ....if you order 11/4 thickness it is smooth both sides....to understand how i build using azek check out the thread Official 2019 Grassroots Bait Swap...i don't carve mainly cuz i can't see it in my minds eye for 3d...therefore i add dimension just easier for me...michel...Go Fish

Drew one of my favorite Go-To smaller baits is the Black Dog G 2 Shell Cracker...have caught countless fish over the years on this bait...largest has been 6 lbs...michel ...Go Fish!!!

Brandon another medium to use for your baits is PVC siding...AZEK was one of the first, Lowes sells it as EverTrue....I switched from wood to pvc , zero water intrusion...product can be worked with common wood working tools...can be turned on a lathe...just my 2 cents... for ballast one of the products i use is pencil lead, i prefer to keep my ballast close to the bottom of my lure, i use a dremmel to cut a slot then cut a pc of lead beat it flat & install, i then use bondo to secure ...bondo is easy to work when set....excuse me for rambling, another invaluable tool to have is a scale , purchased mine at Harbor freight for approximately $20...michel...Go Fish!!!

Chris are the joints cut @ 45 angle....I'm doing a flat side gill was thinking of using an angle cut versus the straight I've been using but with a shorter angle???....michel...Go Fish!!

Looks great for first build....only thing i might add is to cut your bill slot while your block is still square...makes it easier , just my two cents...from an addicted builder of over 10 years....michel Go Fish!!!

SU its been close to seven months since i was diagnosed with cancer...Had my 12th chemo infusion this past Monday , Aug 05....doc is giving me a 4-8 week hiatus to let my body recoup, Iv'e been fortunate most patients can't tolerate that number of infusions ...i haven't endured the hardships most incur, not sick of any sort...thank the fishing Gods...my main issue is eating in that my taste buds aren't functioning properly ....some days food taste great next day same food is the sh$%ts...small price to pay in the overall scheme of things, i eat lot of fruit & salads along with protein of some variety be it fish meat poultry or dairy depending on what the tasted buds are dictating....I will have a CT scan in four weeks to help determine the next course of action....the 2 #'s on my liver she's been monitoring since day one that were 10 times normal in the WAY OUT RANGE, one is in the normal range the other just outside normal...another gem was explained to us on the current lab report , CEA #, it shows the amount of cancer in the blood, at the beginning of treatment mine was a 9, under 5 is good...mine is currently 3.7.....doc says that means my blood currently contains no CANCER CELLS....Great news Lucky me...what in means for the long term only time will tell...My wife & I keep marching forward & fishing when we can...michel ....Go Fish!!!

Wife & I fished the North Delta yesterday, I’d decided I would concentrate on the Toxic Micro-Mink .... good decision... this slab destroyed it mid morning... coming outta the water about a foot on impact...thanks Ceaser for the great bait and info vids on your approach to fishing these style baits , its rewarding... 7.3 lbs. michel... Hey fellow Crawlers....I’ve had this crawler for years.. actually “inherited “ from my fathers tackle box...the Heldon Crazy Crawler was introduced to the fishing World in 1939-40,In late fifties the crawler transitioned to plastic from original wood.... mine is approximately 3 inches long X 1 wide, the wings are 1 5/8, fun lure on the right occasions .... michel....
