  2. SU anyone have a service repair for Daiwa reels they care to recommend ?? have a round 253 i want serviced...thanks...michel...Go Fish!!!
  3. Stuart I have lots of EXPERIENCE....not many Big Fish though ....haven't broke 10 yet, have numerous pushing it....too many to remember in the 5-8 lb size , that's why i quit carrying a net & scale....if i hit a BIG Fish someone zoomin' by will probably have a scale...michel... Go Fish!!!
  4. if you can't view video let me know i'll post it differently...excuse my directorial vocals to my videographer...the wife some times doesn't appreciate my curtness...lol...michel
  5. Andrew I do both # 2 & # 4....depends on the movement one desires... I tend to use straight cut with a tighter gap... I feel it gives a more realistic swim on flat side lures with a somewhat larger profile.... this lure is six inches long two three quarters tall on it I did a straight with screw eyes & a straight cut in the rear with a pin due to small size... the front gap is approximately 3/16’s smaller segment gap approximately 1/8 inch...michel... 6. I'm not really sold on the idea that watching vids are "destroying" local ponds/lakes ....most i watch don't seem to mention names of areas....even if they did, i personally don't buy into it....I'll be 68 in six weeks...been fishing my entire life...my father started me before 5, thanks for my addiction, RIP in Dad know that i'm still out there...i have a slight addiction to the vids ...i use them to learn techniques others are using plus the entertainment value..like azsouth says no matter where i fish (even at the massive fishery of the Cali Delta ) i'm usually fishing behind someone else....put your time in on the water wherever you choose to fish learn the idiosyncrasies & nuances and you'll eventually git bit, simple as that, lol!!!...michel ...Go Fish!!!
  7. Chris, nice fish...it's rewarding to hook up on one's own creation, congrats.... i"m envious of you, also including the Right Coast people in general, more bodies of water to access than us Left coasters especially in my area of central Cali minimum hour to hour an half to get to "public" waters all with a fee of some sort......michel...Go Fish!!!
  8. Chemo fog!!! lol....not sure of the issue the above video was made Saturday evening @ Toxic Day 2 ...Ceaser & Luke spoke about fishing the Delta with swim baits...got luke missed C...video is not great but u can hear the audio, enjoy ... michel.. Go Fish!!!
  9. Su a view from the "Top" of the age spectrum of TXC Day 2....as were many, I was looking forward to TXC Day 2, as I missed the first due to illness...as many of you may know, I reported on my cancer diagnosis at that time...happy to report, last week my doc informed us tumors had shrunk 70-80%!!! I was determined to attend TXC 2....contacted Ceaser about camping the the night before, explaining I had a 350 mile round trip, plus I had health issues...no problem , touch base with me when you arrive, spoke with Ceaser he explained the setup and were to park...Upon arrival I realized my age set me apart from others that I saw (2 months shy of 68 )...Wearing my TXC BTS hat i was sitting in the covered area at Russos, I was approached by two younger attendees who asked if i was here here for Toxic Day....so began my 24 hours of the Toxic World of Swim Baiting ...These first two swimbaiting enthusiasts were River & David, who came together, were from Chico area...we ran thru our experiences & exchanged Instagram user acct's...over the next 24 hrs we spent time talking on/off...Awhile later I was speaking with two fishermen who arrived from Las Vegas for the tournament ...I mentioned my drive wasn't as long as theirs, but I'm in my late sixties dealing with cancer when to my surprise one said "SurfK9", I'm "Striper Addict"...it was a pleasure to meet a fellow SU member, Anthony & his partner Kevin...I was stuck with a feeling of camaraderie and belonging...so the evening progressed...saturday evening I was approached by many attendees whose age I more than doubled...no worry, all that I met had a common thread thru their lives, Bass & Swim Baits...Some of the people I met..Ceaser ( of course) who struck me as a generous & humble host, we spoke briefly a couple different times...I was introduced to Brad Kowalski @ Bank Beaters, thanks for the stickers, shirt and lure...more importantly the feeling of inclusion in something special..."BassFishing Is Not A Crime"...Late in the evening I met another SoCal fishermen who was prepping for the tourney Anthony Amato...he spoke about spooling his reels and fishing in general and fishing the Delta...over and over again I felt, at 68, a feeling of belonging to this younger group of enthusiastic fishermen...so the weekend progressed...the main event beginning early Sunday morning as vendors began arriving & setting up...that in itself is another story altogether...approximately a dozen vendors sharing their creations...willingly imparting their perspective on swimbaiting & of the methods of their baits....I realize I'm rambling at this point...all in all I can say the 24 hours of Toxic Day 2 reaffirmed my belief that we can all come together...I felt that I had met a long lost "Family"....Thank you all for including me in something Special...I met many people I haven't mentioned by name ...senior thing with remembering, although my wife says its Chemo Fog, not a senior thing, LOL...michel...Go Fish!!!....included is a pic of items I scored...left to right...a soft plastic line thru shad bait from Jaw Jack'n Baits ( a freebie...thanks guys), toxic Micro-Mink, a couple plastic frogs from Rat Trap Lures, a snack size walking gill from Brad @ Bank Beaters, a three pc Chorizo from Ceaser @ Toxic, soft plastic from Magnum Baits a six inch blue craw and the Toxic Day 2 tote bag.
  10. Michael I can't say 100% certainty that it's not, but all the punkers I have from the early daze had the iconic paw print on the dorsal side,in the area of the gills...mine are from the early 2000's...just my two cents....michel...Go Fish!!!

  18. Nice Chris....can definitely see that getting SMASHED...feathered hooks can be (IMO) a good/bad scenario...on occasion they seem to entice a bite....on other daze they seem to hinder action ...a personal thingy...michel ...Go Fish!!!
  19. Chris, along with several others following this thread I’m anticipating the “ Drop” notification.... good work here... enjoying your updates & your successes with your design mods ... keep up the great work ... michel ... Go Fish!!!
  20. Thanks to everyone involved...kudos to Ceaser / Toxic Baits ... as the Man says this could be “one for the books”!!! .... michel...Go Fish!!! With any luck I’ll be making the trip....
  21. David I thought about the dilemma you mention ... I use hook bonnets on all my swim baits , @ 67 I got tired of snagging everything including myself...I came up with this scenario ... used some galvanized thin wire ( it was convenient... will switch to stainless steel in the future) to make hangers .. these will add several seconds to unhook/ rehook but hopefully worth the effort... michel... Go Fish!!!
  22. SU I received myPlano 2 days ago loaded it up yesterday , I can see it working great on the boat... onshore I’ll grab a few baits for the wraps & carry in the backpack... managed 24 baits in the hanger section, a two bait wrap & a 10 bait wrap in pockets , plus two line thru savage gear with a couple side pockets to spare...thanks for the suggestions...michel... Go Fish!!!
  23. Just remember ...practice makes perfect & patience is a virtue (i"m lacking the latter...)....one can see the "excess epoxy " exposed on the tail, bad aesthetics ....doubt the fish care...michel...Go Fish!!!
  24. Ross have question for ya...not being familiar with the chad shad i googled it...couldn't find any specific "colors " for east coast or mid west , simply a color chart with no differentiation for east coast or mid west??? are you asking about the llungen Chad Shad.....any help would be appreciated, thanks...michel ...Go Fish!!!! in my early daze of bait building i made a lure similar design...just curious
