  1. Yea they do but it's 15% off instead of the 20% they do during Black Friday. It would only come out to like 20 - 30 dollars savings difference but I also want to put another season under my belt on my current setup before I jump up to larger baits.
  2. I was thinking the extra 25% off was going to apply to all the current sale items but oh well. Kind of forced my hand to save my gift card. I'll probably wait until the next Black Friday sale and put it towards a Muse Black and A3 setup.
  3. Hitting the lake here would require me to do it literally but I did get a TW gift card that will probably end up going towards swimbait gear in the spring
  4. How accurate is the 3-8 rating on the inshore?
  5. I think this would be a good addition. Like others have said it would be nice to have a column for the stock hardware and then a few columns for suggested replacement hardware
  6. I was also looking at these as a possibility for next season. I've heard they are more of a fast action, have you used it with treble hook baits as well like the SS 250? And when you say the ratings are accurate...would a 7.5 or 8 oz bait be out of range or are they dead on?
  7. Haha he made the local news! http://www.nwahomepage.com/news/harrison-man-sells-homemade-fishing-lure-for-nearly-1700/619951838
  8. If they want them I'd prefer to fish topwaters all day every day. Frogs, Whopper Ploppers, Rats, anything really. Second would be just power fishing with moving baits like a spinnerbait or chatterbait.
  9. Sold for the final price of $1675, what a steal!
  10. x2 I don't use braid on my swimbait rod but I use the FG and Alberto knots for my other bass rods and it really is worth the time to learn. Especially if you are worried about the knot going through the guides, there really is nothing better.
  11. It was express checkout through paypal using my debit card. I got a payment conformation from paypal pretty much instantly but the order only cleared my bank account today.
  12. Dang that color looks sweeeet. By the way, how long does Black Dog baits usually take to ship an order out? I ordered something last Wednesday and the payment only now cleared. Do they usually ship out pretty quick after that?
  13. I ice fish so the pursuit for bass just restarts for me, but I wonder if anyone has ever covered a Hudd in a lot of scent and then put one under a tilt....
  14. I saw him post the frog on facebook and decided to follow the ebay link just for laughs. 1375 and climbing....unreal. I mean the lure is a true work of art but I can't even fathom spending that much. It's got to be someone just collecting. The swimming action isn't too great but the way it resurfaces is really cool.
  15. Yea I have ordered a few. I use a concept A on my jig rod so I ordered a second spool in gold so I could have fluoro and braid ready to go at all times. The gold accents very nicely with my tatula rod too. I also got a couple parts on the handle assembly in black as well. Like hillman said above me, they're just like the stock parts and easy to switch out.
  16. You're good, no need to order parts. Mine does the exact same thing, just make sure you hold pressure up against the thumb bar when you put the side plate back on. It's kind of annoying but you'll get used to it. It took me like 3 or 4 tries the first time I took it off too but now it's not an issue for me. To be honest I never saw the bent plate you are describing, I never looked at it though.
  17. I have one that I use for various conventional techniques. I really like it. Like you said, beetle wing is a great feature. Especially since I bought a spare spool so I can switch out between braid and fluoro in about 30 seconds if I need to. I was using it over the summer with 40lb braid and a 130 whopper plopper. It performed fine, was able to really bomb it out there. I replaced the stock 130 hooks with ST-56's and really put the drag on the reel to the test. Couldn't be happier. The only thing is the anti reverse bearing on mine is slipping but I think it just needs a good cleaning over the winter. As for using it for swimbaits, like you said the spool is rather small. You could probably fish small glides like the waver 168 on lighter line with it. I kind of want to try mine with some 6" punkers and shellcrackers though when I get them. I think it would do well with those.
  18. Mostly a metal fan myself. Thrash and prog are my favorite sub genres. But my favorite bands in no particular order are probably Opeth, Iced Earth, Dream Theater, Rise Against (kind of an outlier), Symphony X, Tool and Metallica (personal favorite). I really liked how they did a tribute song for Lemmy but I also thought it was the weakest song on the album, especially when Spit out the Bone comes roaring in after it, it's kind of forgettable at least for me.
  19. Oh woops, didn't see that they had the wood ones on their site when I just went and checked. Good eye.
  20. Outdoor Pro Shop has Bluegill and Ghost bluegill colors for 5 bucks cheaper if anyone else is interested. Plus their 20% off Black Friday sale also applies. So about 20 bucks each.
  21. Cool, thanks for the info man. Also a heads up to you or anyone that wants one, Outdoor Pro Shop has them at 13 bucks right now.
  22. Nice fish! I always seem to catch trout when I am struggling catching bass and am trying something I wouldn't usually. I caught a rainbow on a wacky worm in 40ft of water a while ago. How do you like the Ninja Glider by the way? I'm thinking about getting one.
  23. They can certainly work. You probably have more experience than me with those 3D bluegills, I've only been at it about a year or so. But last year, around Christmas (this is in Massachusetts btw) I was fishing from shore and had 3 or 4 decent bass roll on my 3D bluegill when I was fishing it really slow over some weeds. Just fast enough to keep it's action. I missed all the fish but it was encouraging none-the-less. I might try and go from shore sometime this weekend with my mattlures ultimate gill.
