  1. I'm almost always waking but I do have a 9in 2x that cranks pretty well and have got a few doing that. I also like to twitch the single joints in place next to cover.
  2. I mean, from a fishing perspective certainly not. From a financial perspective he might curse the gods as he starts putting them on all his reels lol.
  3. Oh gotcha that makes more sense for spinning tackle and bluefin. I was trying to imagine casting a hudd with that setup lol.
  4. I use the blood knot and while you definitely hear it go through the guides I don't have issues with it hanging up and bakcklashing. That's with 65lb braid to 25lb mono. The only issue I have is if you are trying to wind in the line at a sharp angle it can hang up at the rod tip so you have to mentally be aware of how you are landing the fish.
  5. Been waiting for this. Wasn't sure if he was gonna announce it on IG so I've been checking like crazy. Scored on the baby cranking possums. Debated grabbing the big one but he's only got it in the wake version it looks like.
  6. This might be unpopular but unless the bait is a soft kind of wood or has a very flakey paint (like those Shiner colored TKs) I prefer the rashed look of a well-fished bait.
  7. Usually 30 to 45, I have a lot of spots close by but most of my favorite lakes take a little driving.
  8. I think the foam is probably the best of both worlds. I know Oliver Ngy has his whole deck covered in the stuff. Not sure how it holds up long term though and I'm sure its more expensive to replace than carpet.
  9. A combination of part of the game but also just knowing your waters. There's a few submerged trees in various lakes I fish I know I'm gonna snag if I make the wrong cast. I lose baits to those trees every year without fail. There's a certain finesse to working your way through cover, and then if you do feel it starting to hang up, not driving the hooks into the cover and really screwing yourself.
  10. I've finally hit on a couple drops this year but yea it's a stressful experience lol. I just watched this one for fun cause I didn't want the color baccas he dropped. It took about 40 seconds to sell out. You basically have 10-15 seconds to get to the point where your paypal is loading.
  11. Not gonna lie, I've been fairly happy with shipping here in the Northeast. A couple days delay is the worst I've experienced. I've shipped a few baits too and they seemed to go cross country pretty well.
  12. I've got 4 currently. Might snag a couple more 9" but I wanna put more time on with the ones I have first. I've got a 2x 9" cranking perch one that smaller fish love for whatever reason.
  13. I've got a 9" dark trout slammer that I have some memorable bites and fish on. It was my first "real" swimbait. Your slammers put mine to shame in terms of hook rash though lol.
  14. Gain more confidence in softbaits and break 6 lbs. 5 fish over 5.
  15. Sweet collection man. I'm trying to keep my eye out for those red ones.
  16. Im from MA for context, but my PB is still pretty modest for MA. So my PB is interesting because it's not one fish...it's 3. I've tied it, to the hundredth of a lb, twice. The first time felt crazy, the second time felt like a curse. I caught a 5.40 on a senko during the spawn way back when I was a kid. Then maybe 5 years ago again during the spawn on a jig, again 5.40. And then a couple years ago on a 9" slammer on a cold rainy day in the fall. That time being my PB swimbait fish but again, tying my PB at 5.40. So now I'm gunning pretty hard to break 6 this year finally.
  17. Lmfao that was the funniest C&C podcast I've ever listened to.
  18. I do wonder how long until one of these companies make this style bait that will suspend stock. I feel like there's a void in the market for that "big jerkbait" type of bait for those twitchy reel retrieves.
  19. I snagged a pack of the hitch. Looks like they'd make a good shiner or baby carp imitation.
  20. Action at a slow crawl is a must. Take the G2 shellcracker. Those things have the same click and tail action at silly slow speeds. The ability to kind of "walk" is nice. That combined with a dead stick by shallow cover has been good to me with slammers.
  21. I've had good luck in colder water getting a reaction bite on swimbaits even if the bite is "off" that day for conventional. Either deflecting off cover or some sort of long pause and quick twitch retrieve like with a TK or even a bullshad 4x4
  22. Probably still my 9" Dark Trout Slammer. That thing has some mojo on it and has been a solid producer.
