@chefchris yeah I was going to bend the wood but didn't think of it. It'd need to be sitting with weight on a curved fixture right? Automotive clear is what I figured would work just not sure if it would grab evenly on the boards material

Bought a travel board which I turned into a wood travel board. Just need to put some coating to protect the top layer and seal the wood. Used clear gorilla glue to hold the travel board to the wood board. Any tips on how to protect the top layer would be appreciated

Hard to justify spending that much on a 5.5" GILL bait that's valued the same around high end rods and reels.

Zorba baits are top notch and don't break the bank.

@dominioncaster I'm there with you man, I have too much confidence with hard baits I wonder what I'm missing out on (in terms of catching bigger fish) with soft baits.

This bait looks sick in person, got jigs from him as well. Now just waiting for my triple double

Not sure, testing it first with the hook barely exposed first. I recommend braid instead of wire, got too lazy to redo it. Bent the hook on the 8" hudd (holdover) to increase the hookup ratio. It can be made weedless but as you make the trench for the hook to sit in you hit the shank of the hudds jig hook, it'd have to be removed or drilled out in order to completely make it tuck under the skin. I'd probably mold the hudds foam body and pre-mold it without a J hook so the resin can be dremell out to allow a hook to sit down below.

Very nice clean work man! How strong are baits when you use 2 blocks of wood glued to one another? They don't separate later on?

Remove the harness, dremel a small slit in the foam. Single strand wire or heavy braid to a J hook and it should sit under the skin. Working on doing that to a 68 hudd and regular 8 inch hudd. The last harness is from a 8" hudd, just need to buy mend it. Ideally the slot where the hook will sit should perfect for the hook so there's no side to side play. Once I finish I'll upload some pics

The godzilla I had swam great, medium glide. Not too short or too wide, handled reel twitches very well and wouldn't blow out. Wasn't too fond of the shape and the baits body height (Lower hookup ratio from my experience when bass bit) I got 1 fish on it and missed another nice fish, the one i landed came on a twitch bite and the other just a regular reeling cadence and pause (She bit the side of the bait)
