  1. How long of a swimbait rod are you looking for?
  2. Does he already have a rod and reel setup?
  3. My buddy Steven Loewen who owns 2-Faced Baits actually did some cleaning and tuning on my own Z2020SH not too long ago. Smooth as butter and no bearing replacements needed - was able to get the most of the solid stock bearings as is. PM me and I can get you his info.
  4. It includes Major Craft rods. They do have a small swimbait rod in that lineup. I have a Major Craft surf rod and they are really good quality for the price. Major Craft is very popular outside of the US. For getting two rods for $100...hell that's a sweet deal!
  5. Ceaser Chavez from Toxic Baits did an IG reel review. Was pretty detailed.
  6. There is a guy here selling a Gen1 Megabass Orochi XX Leviathan Rod for $150. If I didn't have about 10 swimbait rods already, I'd get a second rod. Great treble hook rod, light for its length, and is also a great punching stick. Handle is shorter than most sticks but that's good if you fish in a yak or want to work a big Punker style bait at some point.
  7. Like a tune up, or adding aftermarket parts?
  8. A cool hack with the 1520 Zillion -- the DRT flat knobs will fit on the stock handle studs and knob caps.
  9. I second the HD 1520. It's one of my workhorses, but I have mine with 17lb CXX which has the same diameter as a lot of other 20lb copoly. I use reels with a non-disengaging levelwind when I'm fishing braid (Abu Toro HS, Abu Salty Stage LJ3, Conquest 300). I feel like that I have less tendency for the line to bite because the line is laid evenly after every cast.
  10. Great rods if you can find them. I think it has the perfect parabolic taper for treble hooked baits, especially 1.5-3oz topwaters. That's why I have 3 of them, lol
  11. Oh that is the HS version actually. Comes as a 5-speed and 6-speed. If I didn't have two of the OG Toros and one OG Revo Salty Stage, I'd be all over this. Solid, solid reel and getting harder to find especially the faster version.
  12. Tiny Boat Nation on FB probably has the best resources, but looks good! Old aluminum ladders are a good material to do any framing to put an extended deck.
  13. Don't have the latest Conquest but I do have the 300 size 2018 Conquest A and a Zillion HD 1520SH. You can find the Zillions at a good price used on the resale market. Like others said it is a very smooth caster and I've had mine spooled with either 17lb copolymer or 20lb fluorocarbon and had no fear of spooling her. I've fished mine up to 4oz baits just fine. Conquest do feel more "solid" on the retrieve but the Zillion is no slouch and you won't regret choosing it to save some $$$.
  14. 100mm for almost all my reels but my 400-size ones I like the 110mm, or I should say I'm OKAY with it because I'm crawling baits like Hudds on my big reel. I don't need to do much twitching or manipulation with that reel, so the longer handle is fine.
  15. Is it spiral wrap to the left or right? How heavy is the rod?
  16. I don't have experience with the TFO but I used to own the Spiralite (I think the same model you are referring to). This was probably 5-6yrs ago when I had it. A very light rod that was easy to fish. Definitely tailored more to treble-hooked baits. I didn't mind the reverse spiral wrap (wraps to left) even though I use right-handed reels. I saw no issue in casting with it. I sold it to try new stuff like Dobyns swimbait rods, but in hindsight there was nothing wrong with it and it did it's job well.
