    Anybody who says the new style swims the same as the old hasn't swam them side by side. Old style has more kick, new style is a bit more subtle. I never would have noticed except my buddy had an OG tied on and we literally swam them inches from each other.

    Definitely have a rod with a lefty and a rod with a righty. Switch off spot to spot and you’ll feel a lot better. I do this when I have to throw walk the dog baits all day.

    You also definitely need to check out the Daiwa Coastal. My dad has that reel and it is a beast, but has a small profile.

    I own a Dobyns 795 and a couple LDC rods. You will not regret purchasing the LDC. I've caught close to 50 Deps 250 fish on it, it's an amazing rod. Dobyns is fine, but the LDC is clearly a superior rod. And ALWAYS get the spiral wrap, your reels won't lock up with a giant bass while using that style rod.

    Carhartt makes a solid pair of fingerless gloves. I will pair them up with some super thick plastic gloves in the rain. I've fished in snow and freezing rain and still been able to fish with this combo.

    The Hudd and the Wagtail are both very successful baits. I haven't fished the Defiant yet, seems like there are better options for the price.

    I have not fished the OGs, but the new style is very successful for me. I would not have second thoughts about purchasing the new style.

    Biggest largemouth to date. 13.27, 26” by 22” LDC XXH 25lb Flouro Abu Garcia Toro Rocket Caught her suspended in about 18 ft of water. Went back to the same spot and caught the 6.65 (almost had my second 2 for 20).

    I think the cheek weights are necessary, my citizen will roll without them.

    I've thrown the Mattlures Trout in fast sink which is a 9oz bait I think. I can handle it, but it is not comfortable. It has more than enough power to bury a jig hook on a 8" hudd, or a weedless Citizen, but it feels underpowered for baits larger than that.
