One other thing pertaining to reels and gear ratio. What's the recommended ratio. I've been using a conquest, but recently sold it. I want to possibly get something with a faster gear ratio than the conquest.

Thanks man. Should i use rod pops in conjuction with reeling ? Or reel stop and pop the rod? I cant get it to do much but just the smooth side to side action.

As a fairly new swimbait fisherman, I've tried the deps 250 with no success. I believe my technique needs serious work. I've watched the tactical bass in video on glide instruction, but need more in-depth help. Any pointers or videos to help give the bait erratic action and helping me with overall control are appreciated.
