  1. I have a rat I got from a custom plug guy in MA. I’m not 100 percent sure if it’s a copy or an actual WSB... walks insane and wakes on a slow retrieve. Condition 7.5/10. Has a really cool copper back custom paint

Hey guys not sure where to put this so my apologies if in the wrong spot. I've never had good luck on glide baits so have concentrated on throwing them more this year to work on my technique. No bass yet but the pickerel have been all over them. Any tips on weeding them out, should I change areas, is it the time of year, or is it just a matter of time until I come across a bass that is willing to bite em. Essentially I am wondering if I am fishing the wrong areas right now or are the slime darts just more active in the area I am in. This is the same spot where I have caught all my biggest bass so I am a little confused why no bass are willing to hit the glides.

Thats odd. This belongs on the underground forum space btw!

    Hey y’all,

for the past few weeks I’ve been really putting in some time on the water for the night bite. I’ve been throwing the slammer, SPRO rat, pats, basically if you can wake it I’ve thrown it prolly. I’ve found that basically all the fish are in anywhere from 1-4 ft of water, sounds great right? unfortunately all of the lakes around here are starting to get choked up with weeds so it’s getting harder and harder to throw up into shallow cover with treble hooked baits. Looking for any ideas on what is a good night time bait that’s not gonna get me snagged up every cast. Tight lines everyone!

  5. This last week was very rough on me. My only swimbait rod snapped in half after a friend made a dummy move in a canoe... Then my trusty kayak's bottom wore right through after years of dragging to the juicy spots. So today I decided to go out as it seemed to be perfect conditions for a spot of mine (overcast and heavy rain). After throwing the shellcracker a bass exploded on it and choked the thing. SInce I was borrowing a kayak i didnt have my scale or phone mount... I only got one good photo. It went 18 x 16 and estimated high 4's. I could fit my clenched fist in its mouth easily!

If anyone in MA has a rod they are looking to donate to a 16 year old in need lmk LOL :-D

Just to add on to what Dave said said, if you were talking about screw eyes, You can find a large selection from Lure Parts Online, i recommend the Magnum for the joints and hook hangers. Also just search around Lure Parts Online, they have a ton of stuff, all very well priced, and all good quality. If you can figure out how to use swivels as hook hangers, thats even better.

I would start with wood, and bass wood is a great place to start.  There are different methods to sealing your would, I recommend using a polyurethane, sanding between Coats.  I didn't make my 1st mold until well over a year and a half of making wooden baits.

If you have any more questions you can message me directly and I can help you out.

    Thanks alot man! V helpful
