It’s so much fun going after big fish of all species, I love catching big crappie and bluegill even when I have trophy bass and walleye near by
-
I know everyone on this platform loves the flat measuring mats but if people are interested you should check out musky bump boards, I use their walleye version and it’s the best measuring board I have ever had. Just my two cents, @CG_Fishes love the bluegill pics thanks for sharing man!

@CG_Fishessmall swimbaits definitely get big ones and I don’t think a lot of people throw paddle tails for gills, I even catch them pretty consistently on the 3” hazedong. I’m hoping to get an 11” on a swimbait eventually
-
Hahaha yes it is a musky bump board but they are the best so of course I’m going to use it, and yes I caught the gill and the carp on a 901 NRX:)

Was going over some fish catches from 2021 and found some pictures from time spent targeting big bluegills on tiny swimbaits! Such a blast catching big bull gills on 2.5” swimbaits. One of the afternoons I was out there I got bit, set the hook into a 33” tank of a carp. Took probably over 10 minutes to get in with my bluegill gear. Also pictured is my first 10” gill of the summer on the small swimbait.

Thanks! Appreciate the information @lasagnalizard90

Would anyone happen to have his email? I don’t use any social media so I can’t dm him through any of those platforms

Thanks! We have almost 2 feet of ice on my lakes so I think I have some time to get it repaired before spring
-
Hello SU, so I have a 3:16 baby wake I received from a member a few years ago. Bill was self repaired before it got sent to me and basically broke off within a few casts. Any recommendations on how to fix it or does anyone know if 3:16 would fix it for me? Thanks for the help and tight lines
-
I have never caught a single fish on a Huddleston lol but I have caught a lot of big fish on other swimbaits so I’m not complaining, I just never have any luck on them in my waters.
-
Those baits sound like a fun way to catch them too! Thank you I had a great time reeling them in tight lines
-
Yes it has pretty good water clarity, sometimes 4 foot visibility, sometimes 10+ just depends on wind. I’d say it’s always worth a try during the day, and worst case scenario you’ll probably get some followers to help identify good areas to try. Far too often I think people start too subtle and small for walleye when often times they will respond to larger and more aggressive presentations even in freezing water temps. I think in the situations I’ve had success they have really been keyed in on year old perch up shallow.
-
FishDr yeah I did get most of them to go during the day but the lake I was on has never been very good to me in low light or after dark for whatever reason. I was catching most of them in 4 feet or less of water, some were biting light but the bigger ones were hitting it pretty hard. Even caught some 14-16 inchers on it.

Caught a bunch of big walleye on the perch colored negotiator in 34 degree water temps. They were following it from below to the boat and smoking it boat side when I gave it the right side to side twitch and pause.
